Rock band 4

Mad Catz was already known to be in bed with Harmonix when it came to Rock band 4. They are making the all new controllers that will take the wireless music game controllers to a new generation of gamers. But they’re doing more than making the input devices, their input goes far deeper.

Mad Catz has announced that they will actually be co-publishers:

Today, Mad Catz has another reason to celebrate. We’re proud to announce the extension of our agreement with Harmonix to co-publish Rock Band 4 on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. In addition to being the exclusive hardware manufacturer for all the new music game controllers, we’ll also be working with Harmonix to co-publish the game – leading global sales, promotions and distribution.

Mad Catz have a deep appreciation for the amazing work by Harmonix and we can’t wait to play our part in delivering Rock Band to passionate gamers everywhere! Co-publishing the game allows us to work closer than ever before with Harmonix, delivering a seamless experience from game through hardware and ensuring that we focus on the needs of the gamer first and foremost!

I have some mixed feelings about Mad Catz. They make a few stellar peripherals, but they don’t always have the best reputation when it comes to distribution and communication. Perhaps this will be their opportunity to up their game and show the world that they can deliver on this scale. The post ends with references to E3, which is presumably when we’ll get even more info (and possible hands-on time) with the game. Until then, I’ll just have to continue playing air-musician and rocking out to my favourite music the old-fashioned way.

Ok wait….So Mad Catz are going to make musical instrument like controllers…. That should be very interesting…. Especially considering that most of their hardware looks like a series of random spare parts shoved together to create some awesome mouses and keyboards… Hell, I’m pretty sure, judging from this, that those controllers will not only look hardcore, but it’ll probably be a metal musicians wet dream, without the strings and a bunch of buttons fitted instead, which would aggravate said metal musician, causing for a spectacular showcase of a plastic controller being smashed against a screen and like Jimi Hendrix putting it to fire, while hundreds stare in disbelief….

If you are looking for a stock to buy….MCZ (Mad Catz) imo will benefit
from the publishing role. Last time they sold instruments for Rock
Band the stock went from like 30 cents to $2.50 cents from 2010-2011…this year will
be the same, or better since they are also publishing the game.
