For a company that is rolling in billions of dollars from various film releases over the last couple of years, Disney hasn’t been too keen to push out movie tie-in games as of late. That’s because after a slew of less than mighty Marvel titles, the folks involved in that side of the business want quality over quantity now. Which is why we’re yet to see a proper game that will assemble some Avengers on our consoles.
“The Avengers game will come when we have the right partner, that has the right vision, that has the time to develop a strong, competitive triple-A title and wants to do it right,” Marvel head of games TQ Jefferson said to IGN.
According to Jefferson, Marvel now has some ground rules in place for future games. Namely that they need to be fun, have a story worth playing through and must remain true to the character of the heroes that they represent. In other words, be the exact opposite of The Mighty Thor and (the unfairly panned) Captain America games.
Gamers, they know better. They’re not going to flock to something that’s sub-par. We got a bloody nose on both of those. We would rather not have a game than to just sign something to have something out on time.
Which is why we’re yet to see a big budget Avengers game, as Marvel didn’t even capitalise on the success of that film with an obligatory tie-in. Unless you count that recent Lego Marvel Super Heroes game as the Avengers plus pals, I reckon.
“I think the fact that there wasn’t an Avengers game turned out in time for the film is indicative of Marvel’s new attitude and the approach to how we find partners and build games,” Jefferson said.
I think in the heyday of the movie licensed game, these games were popping out all the time and most of them sucked.
Still, that doesn’t mean that we won’t see some Marvel presence in the near future. Disney Infinity gets an upgrade later this year, with a new starter pack that is all about capes, shields and gamma radiation.

Personally I find that a silent charge works better.
It unnerves them even more than a battle cry, especially if you’ve just slaughtered all their friends, and you don’t have to do a pointless dance with it.
Oh and you can of course make use of stealth as well, although I’ll need to look into modifying my armour first.

You should avoid mirrors… and people… and small animals… and large animals…
Trees, rocks and furniture should be fine though… should be.
