Mass Effect 2, the PC/X360 exclusive space-exploration RPG has obviously had quite a few engine enhancements since its beloved prequel. It’s fluidly animated and resplendently beautiful, as attested by the latest developer diary. Combat has thankfully had a huge overhaul, and includes realistic damage modeling and has downed enemies still continuing to crawl and fight – and those dreary, samey planets seem to be gone, allowing for a richer exploration experience.
Hit the jump for the aforementioned developer diary video – It’s almost…almost made me stop wishing for a Knights of the Old Republic sequel. I adored the first game, and can’t wait to kick more Geth arse. I want this game. Now.
Be aware though that the video may contain a few spoilers – If you want an untarnished experience when you settle down to play this early next year, you may want to skip this. If you’re prone to leaking sausage-snot in your underwear, you may want to skip it too.
