Mass Effect 3 to be indistinguishable on Xbox and PS3

Bioware has said that users won’t be able to tell a damned difference between the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of its upcoming Space RPG. Naturally, the same rules wont apply to its PC version.

"This is the first time that all three platforms have shipped at the same time,” said Bioware’s David Silverman to CVG “and it will be an amazing adventure whatever platform you play it on. I don’t think you’ll see a difference between the Xbox version and the PS3 version. There’s no drop in quality on either."

The reason, he says, is that this time they’ve built all versions side-by-side. The PS3 didn’t see the 2007 hit Mass Effect at all, with its sequel hitting the system a year after its debut on the Xbox 360.

Of course, talk is cheap – and we’ve seen these sort of claims of platform parity from developers before – so we’ll have to wait until the game’s released next year to see if they’re true.

I’ll probably end up picking it up for 360 – mostly because that’s where I played its predecessors. What’s your platform of choice for saving the galaxy?
