Cabot evolve

This time last year, Evolve was so far off my radar. Sure I’d heard about the asymmetric multiplayer game, but it just didn’t seem worthwhile to me. Then I got to play it, and I was instantly hooked. I played it more at E3 and Gamescom, and I’ve decided that it will be my go-to multiplayer game when it launches. And now there’s yet another character on offer.

William Cabot is the latest support character to be revealed for Evolve, and we get some story/lore out of it, too.

“YEAH, WE’RE ALL SHIT-HOT HUNTERS, SO WHAT? CABOT’S THE ONE GONNA GET US OUT OF HERE ALIVE.” -ABE

Only one man could lead the desperate attempt to rescue he last of the remaining colonists from Shear: William Cabot. Long retired from planet taming, Cabot agreed to help and, with his robot partner Bucket, assembled the greatest team of Hunters in history.

Here are Cabot’s four abilities:

  • The Damage Amplifier – Cabot’s signature weapon locks on to its target, weakening its armor and its hide. All damage done to his target is doubled.
  • Radioactive Dust Tagging – On his command, his ship—the Laurie-Anne—drops an air burst of radioactive dust, highlighting every living thing in a 60-meter radius for twenty seconds. If the monster is in the dust’s area, not only is it unlikely to escape, it’s unlikely to live
  • The Rail Cannon – All support hunters have powerful weapons, Cabot’s is the only one that can shoot through solid rock. If he can see its outline, he can kill it. With clear line of sight, the Rail Cannon’s rounds can keep going. If line of sight is blocked, by trees, or buildings, or rock, or anything, the cannon’s projectile bursts into a cone 40 meters long. Anything in that cone takes half damage from the Rail Cannon
  • Cloaking – Of course this support has some stealth cloaking, too, making him able to run into dangerous areas and hide the medic when necessary.

And here is a video to show off what he can do. There’s even some dramatic gameplay shoutcasting.

Is Evolve one of the games that you’ll be picking up next year February? I have loved my time with it, but of course I’ve played under perfect conditions – with no lag (LAN setup), a team of game journalists or excited community and everyone using top end headsets. Without that level of communication, the game just can’t be as good. I vote we all play together so that we have the best chance of having awesome games. Lazygamer Evolves!

I think Evolve looks fantastic and regardless of the fact that it’s not something I’m particularly interested in, I could consider playing with you Lagz peeps. The game certainly does look cool.

I had quite the fun time as the monster too though!

All I am seeing on the internet is lots and lots of Ubisoft HATE. I have not heard a peep about the new Dragon Age game.

I take it that is a good sign. As much as I love to hate EA and their Bioware slaves, it seems the game delivered on their promises.

Is it that good? are people so busy enjoying it to the point that not a single pitch fork has been brought out?

I’ve also noticed that the DA has been quite smooth. Good for the Dragon Age franchise, I say.
On the Ubisoft hate…I’m riding that train too. They just need to realise who they’re selling to. Gamers are informed about the things they buy and the entire industry. It’s not like other industries where you can screw over your customers and they’ll just keep coming back.

I’m not even a DA fan, (the last one I really enjoyed was the first) but Inquisition has really been hitting all the right buttons.

Cool, I hear it has Intelligent writing. This game might earn a spot next to The Witcher 3.

Story is a huge part of a fantasy game for me. So that’s good to hear.
I just prefer the single person control over the party control in fantasy games, especially open world games. Just feels a bit more epic (if that makes sense).

Me to. But the game sprouted from the PC ( all those F1 keys 🙁 ) and the top down strat multitasking was made a little more streamlined thanks to the console ports. I just let the party run around naked on auto casting while I swing in with a Bastard Sword.

Consensus is that DA:I is awesome thus far, plus the microtransactions are restricted to the multiplayer part of the game which is a good move from EA.

        Requirement 1 = It runs at 1080p
Requirement 2 = The single player is an entity on its own
Requirement 3 = No bugs that pull the player out of the emmersion
Requirement 4 = No day 1 patches, That includes The Witcher 3
        Requir……..

Shit, I think it failed on requirement 4… Oh well, a pity.

I only have half a year left of gaming the way things are going.

As for that shitty PlayStation Network 2.0 firmware update that needs 7 patches to patch the update of the last patch.

I will make you a deal right now in public.

If The Witcher 3 goes gold with game breaking bugs, and as a result requires a day 1 patch. I will sell you my PS4 for R3000 and you get 3 free games.

            DEAL?

I played the Alpha and oh boy was it fun, average match time is about 5-20 mins depending on how pro/noob the monster is. Character level up on weapons and abilities are there and best of all is its playable on international servers without too much problems.
