Meet the Queen in new Assassin’s Creed Syndicate trailer

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate takes place during the Industrial Revolution. More specifically, it takes place during the Victorian Era, so named because of the Queen of England who ruled during the period. Despite being part of a strange communist plot to overthrow the capitalist Templars (I think that’s what the game is getting at), it appears that the protagonists will get to be friendly with said queen.

Here is the latest trailer for Assassin’s Creed Syndicate that shows off a bunch of the historical characters that will make an appearance in the game.

It’s not just the queen who interests me, though, although I’m intrigued to find out how you end up meeting and interacting with her. However, there are other cool characters who I’m excited about. I already assumed and had it confirmed that you would hang out with Karl Marx, Charles Darwin and Alexander Graham Bell. However, I think it’s rather cool that players can also interact with Florence Nightingale. I like the diversity of characters, although I’m wondering if the whole class struggle thing won’t become a bit heavy handed – I suppose I will have to wait and see how it all plays out in the game.

Assassin’s Creed has always appealed to me with its historical tourism and I think this one will be no different. Assassin’s Creed Unity felt a bit tired to me; not only was the game broken, but the French Revolution always feels a bit overdone. Showing off the seedy underbelly of industrial era London? Now that could be fun.

I haven’t really seen much that’s really sold me on AC Syndicate yet. Then again, I’m still to play Black Flag.

I really do want to. Looks interesting.

It’s on Steam sale now for $10. But it’s R90 for a physical copy, so will probably pick it up in the store sometime. My wife is playing it now and she loves it.

I think people overhyped it too much for me though.
Though I do really enjoy it, I think I expected too much. And on PC it feels sluggish for some reason.

            October 14, 2015 at 09:23

I also played it on PC seemed but then again it was long ago when the game came out it is a bit outdated now I guess.

Yeah unfortunately that happens, but at least you still enjoy it, I actually wish they do a whole remaster like the Uncharted before new one comes out would buy it 100%

That could be quite nice. I enjoy the party-system in it, and the diversity.
            How does ME3 stack up?

            October 14, 2015 at 09:32

I enjoyed it as much as ME2 to be honest even though other won’t agree, also it looks better graphics wise if I recall correctly. Only issue the ending was a bit disappointing but I honestly loved the game it’s more of ME2 pretty much in my opinion.

Will probably get it after ME2, just to finish the series. And it’s cheap on Origin, so will be worth it. Thanks

Story really interest me big time and sounds good, however I played this at Rage and honestly was a bit disappointed. From graphics perspective the game looked horrible and controls were a bit rough. But the displays at Rage were crappy so I guess we will have to wait and see the grappling hook is a nice addition to the game and makes the movement much faster.

I had a dream I was fighting Xenomorphs with only a squirt bottle full of acid to defend myself with.
Next thing I am in this room, and there is this spider. Big as my hand. Fat as a Call of Duty player’s Mom. And guess what, the acid in my bottle turned into water.
So all I am doing is pissing of this spider, really. So it charges at me.
Back in real life, I wake up screaming like a four year old girl.
Still more fun than any Ass Creed game. Ever

I finished Uncharted 3 last night HOLY FCUK BALLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Those last 3 hours should have blown up every PS3 let alone the PS4. WTF!!!!!!!!!

I have never never seen set pieces like it, I thought my TV screen was going to crack. I cant for the life of me understand why people prefer 2. The ending was cool, it left a grin on my face.

Name me one game this generation that has that level of destruction in a fully mapped Vista while a playable action scene is happening in the foreground.

Maybe its the PS4 version that just made even better than modern games.

I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO!!!!! From Uncharted 3, The Witcher 3, MGSV, Until Dawn I have no idea what is GOTY 2015

UNCHARTED 3 FTW IT TOTALLY TRUMPED ALL OVER THE TOMB RAIDER REBOOT.

Does anybody know what the budget was because there were 7 environments with no cut or paste, 3 massive chase scenes and destruction beyond belief.

Also, the desert scene is the most photo realistic graphics that I have seen, It beats MGSV.

CANT WAIT FOR UNCHARTED 4 🙂

Witcher 3. Of course. Because it’s on all platforms. CDPR deserves a win simply because of that. With MGSV in close second.

Ya, I am a sucker for linear narrative driven games with better script writing than Indiana Jones.
My personal preference goes to Uncharted 3, then MGSV for its game play and a very close 30 frames behind that is The Witcher 3 for its mature approach and classical writing. Honorable mention goes to Until Dawn.

        DAM what a year.

I watched a bunch of YouTube clips on Until Dawn, that’s my experience with it as a pc gamer…but it looks pretty damn sweet.
Uncharted is completely foreign to me though.

I was watching a few of the release trailers of Witcher 3 this morning again. They couldn’t overhype that game no matter how hard they tried. It’s sublime.

A few of my five games of the year though were actually released last year. So for games actually released this year….with Fallout 4 still coming…Witcher 3 is at the top.

For me Witcher 3 it’s just such a brilliant game story, gameplay the whole setting for me just feels so good! Nothing like I ever played the mature themes it’s more than a game work of art.

I agree but I am going to have to keep consistent this year as Naughty Dogs TLOU was my GOTY 2014

They may be remastered but they are just as relevant as modern games.

Why cant Ubisoft spruce up Ass Creed with a sprinkle of Naughty Dog? Its bland and boring.

I fully agree both are such brilliant games and I do enjoy a break from all the open world madness and play a linear great story experience.

Duuuuude I couldn’t agree more like AC has an interesting idea and settings are always amazing different times through history if they just tried a bit to make it a more linear experience and focus on the story and not on the boring do the same shit open world would have been a great game!

I suppose keeping the same Protag throughout the series makes a huge difference as you become attached and watch him grow. At first I thought Nathan Drake was your run of the mill wise ass. But he becomes a loveable rouge.

What I noticed with U3 is that the sound effects were more meaty kind of like TLOU. Shooting a sniper rifle made me excited for some reason 😛 That huge echo after the blast was win.

But whatever Bluepoint did to the game it is actually prettier and smoother than Tomb Raider remastered.1

I cant wait to restart on easy with weapon of choice and relive those scenes. So much happens in the game that you forget. I also think they hit the sweet spot with 8hours per game.

          • Nikola

            October 14, 2015 at 09:57

Yeah totally makes a big difference having the same character to play with you become attached.

Yes I felt like Uncharted was one big action scene did not want to put the controller down 8 hours is just enough don’t need more for that game, sometimes the linear games are too long and fatigue kicks in and you sort of become bored it happened to me with Evil Within by the end I just wanted to finish the game already felt a bit too long.

W3. That’s raised the bar for every game that follows it that thinks it’s telling a story. No game has evoked more emotion in me than that one, ever, and they did it consistently over the course of literally DAYS worth of game play. Fun is fun and is ultimately forgettable because so many games are fun, story and emotion lasts so much longer – because those are unique.

Any time Geralt and Ciri were together. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK. Always wins.

I finsihed it. Got the one ending…and (but this is just me probably) I told myself I had to accept the end I got and live with my decisions. No going back and trying to make it different. This is how it is. Makes the story have a much bigger impact, I feel, than giving yourself a chance at every outcome. One day soon I’ll replay the entire game again, and things will be different. But for now, the Witcher 3 ended in a very specific way for me.

Ciri goes to icy place, last seen walking into the cold snow.
Geralt goes to get her amulet back from the crone. Kill crone.
Sad ending, but gotta live with them decisions you know.

Eish man. I got the bittersweet ending, which still makes me feel the feels just thinking about it.

Everyone together in White Orchard, spend the day with Ciri, then she leaves to become Empress of Nilfgaard, while Geralt heads off with Yen.

When she was walking in the snow I got all the flashbacks to our time together – throughout the game I made a point of encouraging her to have fun and not be afraid of her power – it worked. 🙂 I’m so proud of my virtual daughter it’s silly.

          • Commander JJ of the Normandy

            October 14, 2015 at 10:38

I told her to make her own choice in the end…I thought I was being fair.
I can’t even imagine that ending you got. (I don’t know what the endings are besides the one I got).
Is it just me or is Triss very scarce in the last bit of the game? She barely features anywhere.

          • Alien Emperor Trevor

            October 14, 2015 at 10:47

You can check them out on Youtube if you really want to. I did afterwards to see what could’ve happened. 🙂

I also told her to do what she thought was right, it’s all the preceding stuff that determines what she does. Everyone was always on her case, trying to control everything about her, whereas I just let her be a kid, because that’s what she is, and encouraged her.

One of my favourite scenes was near the end when the two of us trashed Avelach’s workshop while Yen watched… and then when the camera panned away you saw Yen’d drawn a mustache on his portrait.

Don’t know what you did with Triss, but I was a one Yen man throughout the game, didn’t ask Triss to stay when at the harbour. Was rather glad about that when I heard what Yen did after finding a few red hairs in a bed…

          • Commander JJ of the Normandy

            October 14, 2015 at 10:49

I tried that too. Obviously, somewhere along the line, one of those was not so wise.
Yen was also my “love interest” throughout the game, so she was very present during the end. It just felt like Triss got a bit scarce…like she didn’t have much input into the end. That’s all I mean.

            October 14, 2015 at 10:53

Yeah, I also encouraged Ciri all the way just to be herself. Also, that scene in the workshop is my second favourite of the game, first being where the 3 witchers got drunk
