Metal Gear Solid 5 is headed to PC

MGS5

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is on the way to new-gen consoles, and it’s bringing a ton of brand spankin’ new cardboard box AI with it. “But you know who else can render boxes better”, I’m asked as I’m gently waterboarded to oblivion while listening to the audio torture known as Genesis and Phil Collins. PC of course! And those gamers will indeed be getting some Hideo Kojima love.

The Konami web team inadvertently jumped the gun when they announced that Metal Gear Solid V and its glorified demo Ground Zeroes would be hopping platforms. Here’s the original gaff:

 Konami

This makes for the first Metal Gear Solid game in a very long time to appear on that platform, and no Metal Gear Rising doesn’t count. Metal Gear Solid mastermind Hideo Kojima made things official during the Gamescom Twitch livestream yesterday, with Steam getting in on the action as well.

In case you missed it, here’s some of that deliciously absurd gameplay:

There’s no clue as to when exactly Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain will hit PC, but it should hopefully be in 2015. Hopefully. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go enjoy some more new-gen horse-pooping and cardboard box sneaking.

What happens when the horse you just ballooned into the air above you takes a dump?

Well for one thing you have more to worry about than 1080 pees.

        Trevor’s story:
“Mwahaha. I just horse-napped an entire herd of over 1000 horses.”
        *Something splatters to the ground*
        “Wtf was that?”
“This is… ” *pokes the something and rubs fingers together* “… shit?”
*Looks up and sees the herd floating in the air*

*Several somethings splatter onto the ground*
        “Oh crap!”

Actually if you think about it that’s not a smart move, because then you’re on the outside with me & with what’s about to come down. 😉

I learnt how to Blink long before I learnt to invade peoples heads.

And before you strain yourself trying to figure out what blink is I’ll help you out: Blink is a short distance teleport that, when mastered, has a 0 second cooldown and costs 5 mana to cast.

I know, it’s from Dishono(u)red – but your explanation has preempted any chance of my making a joke about actual blinking. Spoil sport.

I preferred the Warden’s skill from Warcraft III: Frozen Throne, but the one from Dishonoured isn’t bad.

Honestly, this makes me more excited for Silent Hills! If they can port FOX engine games to PC, then there’s a good chance that Silent Hills will get the same treatment.

I think Witcher 3 will be where I fall too. I have already fallen to Star Citizen. =/

I will probably get Witcher 3 on Gog.com though. Since I get 20% off for owning 1 and 2 and the fact that it is supporting them directly.

How far is Star Citizen now?

Can you zoom in to those ribbed pipes on your character’s breathing apparatus yet? Like that trailer I used to jizz over, all those years ago?

Not trying to sound patronising (ok maybe I am, a little bit… sorry!). But I really am curious…
