MGS4 Delayed Due to bad PS3 sales or…

This is not what the Metal Gear Solid fans have been waiting to hear.

Here is the sad part of the press release

KONAMI had initially intended to release “METAL GEAR SOLID 4 GUNS OF THE PATRIOTS” this winter and has been working on the production of the title. KONAMI has decided to delay the title’s release in order to make further improvements to the quality of the game and provide even greater enjoyment for more customers worldwide.

So have they delayed it due to problems getting it finished or due to the poor PS3 user base? I am going with the second one because I highly doubt the golden child of Sony is having any problems developing on the platform and I just don’t buy the further improvement idea.

Or are they just holding out until the rumbling SIXAXIS hits our shelves in March 2008?

OR…. Have they abandoned the PS3 and they are busy porting it over to the 360 as we speak?

Or maybe it really is just being delayed for that extra polish. I far as I know there never was a set release date for this game, so a delay doesnt really mean anything.

Im just glad I have no interest in this game.

Maybe they’re fixing up the nasty A.I. you’ve pointed out before instead of rushing out the door ?

I think “winter” is just going to be a very competitive time to release a game, there’s a lot of stuff being held over from Late ’07.

I guess they’re hoping to maximise impact by launching in a minor lull, and the extra time will also be beneficial to QC. Although isn’t GTAIV launching around then?

isn’t this game considered a console seller? if so why should it worry about any other games? would that mean that their are “better” games out there? *oh no he didn’t!* wait for it …

Actually delays for the MGS series are nothing new. Every MGS title ever release has had at east 1 delay. If you are surprised by this then you haven’t been paying attention!

Besides, as long as the game comes out and is good nobody will care if there was a delay. This thing will sell many consoles.

Oh no you didn’t, kold 😀 ! Don’t you even go there…talking all kinds of nonsensical blasphemy 😀 …better games than Metal Gear, pffft! On a serious note, I do think that they are just polishing the game. See, Sony is not stupid…I pray…or rather, they are not so stupid that they don’t realise the value of “Metal Geaaarrrrrr :D”. Money has switched and that game is an exclusive, if not a verrrry lengthy timed-exclusive. So no, a port is not being made.

Although, I do think that Konami need to release this game soon…cuz I’m going through Metal Gear withdrawal, right now. It isn’t good for me..

MGS… the game were you fool guards by moving around in a box or barrel in front of them? They got AI?!?!?!

    j/j

    😉

Moving it into 2008 places into other antecipated hot titles for both consoles.

Actually i would have thought that because this game is a system seller, it actually makes better sense to wait for a lull, think about then mgs can be the only great thing at that time and it then has an even better reason to compel you to buy a overpriced piece of hardware to run it on. Unfortunately for the early PS3 buyers like myself this just means we have to wait longer, no real problem though i doubt ill be bored.
