MGS4 Xbox 360 bound?

Yes this rumour has been dragged out of the gutters for another run.

After the shock announcement of FFXIII coming to the 360 the MTV guys headed over to Matt Greenberg and had a chat with him.

Apparently Microsoft has a white board of games that people have said will never be coming to the Xbox 360, that list is getting smaller all the time.

Think Ninja Gaiden, GTA, FFXIII and DMC..

When asked if Metal Gear Solid was going to be taken off that board Greenberg replied with

That’s a question for Konami.

Which really doesn’t give us enough to pump the rumour but we are sure going to try.

360 really doesn’t need MGS4. That game joins Halo 3 on the top of the ridiculously over rated pile.

Lol, yeah and because the PS3 got Bioshock i guess now it’s also getting Halo3 and Gears2.

    Actually, they can keep Halo3.

I for one would not mind MGS4 coming to the 360. If it did they could the add a little more eye candy and run it at a higher res. I would buy it, it looks like an awesome game.

I doubt anyone will take offense to this comment. I’ve never seen this teen write a useful flamebait.

Riva wishes he was still a teen :-P. I don’t think he is flaming though. As he does have a PS3 and has praised it a lot in fact he is hardly on his 360 anymore.

And before this get to Bluray vs DVD storage… if they dumped the story parts and release a condensed, only play version of MGS4, it would easily fit on a DVD…

Or they can let the 360 have the game without the movies, but stream the movies from netflix 😀 easy

Heres the thing, unless youve played 1,2 and 3 – 4’s story is a pile of donkey ass, now if you have then you are probably a mgs fan, in which case you probably own a ps3 and the game or intend on getting both soon. So really if you are a devoted xbox gamer and have always been – i doubt you give a shit, and really mgs is not all that – its just another slice of justification on most parts for owning a ps3.

It’s actually the best game I’ve ever played, and yes I’ve played Gears, Halo, GTA, Bioshock etc. It’s not a game it’s an experience, I don’t really like the gameplay. I payed R700 for the movies.

Good for you, but I have to say I hated 1,2&3 for that exact reason.

The problem is that the MGS ship has now sailed, the buzz is gone. Like BioShock PS3, I don’t think MGS4 360 (or any late port for that matter) would do nearly as well as if launched simultaneously. On the other hand, costs are covered and any sales are jsut gravy.

fanboisim and flaming aside, the FF13 annoucement and the MGS4 rumour has simply re-enforced a simple fact. When you have 2 very similar platforms out there, it really doesn’t make sense to have console exclusivity. All you’re doing is cutting down your target market.

The only way a platform manufacturer can truly guarantee exclusivity is by having a more powerful platform, or owning the dev studio or the IP.

So you can really start a rumour about any 3rd party IP moving platforms because it’s bound to happen if the bean counters decide it’s a profitable move.
