You may recall that a while back there was a big fuss about the fact that someone on Xbox Live was forced to change their bio because they stated that they were gay. The gay rights organisations jumped on this as proof that Microsoft are homophobic and rode this horse all the way in.
I thought the issue had been buried but apparently it’s still around and causing enough nuisance to make Microsoft revisit their policy on sexuality and hopefully come up with a better solution.
According to their research that word “gay†is used appropriately 2% of the time, by appropriately I mean the word isn’t being used to be offensive.
The other 98% of the time it is used as an insult or to demean someone. This is a sad reflection on society but that being said I don’t see what the big deal is about not being able to announce your sexuality on your gamertag?
I honestly couldn’t care less if you were hetrosexual, homosexual or a hot latin lesbian supermodel…
Wow that took about 5 minutes before I could start typing again.. that’s an awesome search term.
Anyway back to the point, I feel this issue is just a play by a minority group to try and get the attention they so deeply desire, Microsoft should just drop their policy and leave it up to people to report offensive gamertags and take each one on a case by case basis.

I guess its how you string words together that makes em more offensive.
Like MarkTheGayGuy would be an OK~ish tag.
But MarkTheGayBanger would be more offensive.
