Microsoft to annouce a new Xbox One exclusive at Gamescom

Phil Spencer has announced that Microsoft will be showcasing a new unique exclusive at their event at Gamescom this year along with some big news relating to Europe’s biggest franchise.

In his own words as reported by videogamer

“We’re going to have a really short stage presentation with some news, talking about some unique exclusive coming to the platform, we’re going to talk about Europe’s biggest franchise and maybe some interesting things… We have some stuff.”

So Europe’s biggest franchise must be FIFA and I’m going to presume their big announcement is related to Kinect which isn’t anything I’m overly excited about but a brand new exclusive is something that piques my interest.

The bad news is that Microsoft are not going to live stream this event; but have no fear. We’ve already secured our exclusive invite to the event and we will be live-blogging and tweeting the event so stay tuned to Lazygamer.net to get all the news first.

I heard rumors that they are considering a release on ps4 within the next 2 years. Not sure if it is true.

That is a new ugly thing that raising its head in the industry, it seems that we might have two type exclusive. One that will only be available on a specific platform and the “timed exclusive” on a platform with a delayed launch on other platform (aka a Rockstart launch)

Yes I find it very irratating. Look at the original Mass Effect. It was eventually released on the PS3 after all these years. They should come straight out and say “Yes it is exlusive now but will release later on this platform” They are only helping the console makers and not really themselves by releasing exclusives even if the console maker gives them a lot of money for exclusivity.

Amazing how different $ony and M$ are handling their next gen consoles in terms of information release. M$ can’t shut their trap and everyday they’re harping on about every tiny little detail while $ony have been leaving all their media release info for the big shows only.
I get the kneejerk after all the negative press around the X1 reveal but geez, sometimes less is more.

Sony is very good at playing the silent game, and no, it’s not good news. On the contrary, it might turn out very bad! Sony was more than happy to stay silent for 2 months allowing all websites to report that the PS4 will have 7Gb of RAM available for games. They give little information, have the fanbois make their own assumptions and let them run with it! Sony has been very quick to reply when MS announced something that they could outdo (eg. replying immediately that their video capturing will not be behind a pay wall etc.) but for the rest of the MS announcements since E3 they kept quiet because they had nothing!

Actually, it’s very good news. Sony’s been TERRIBLE at playing the silent game for what? The past 5 years at least? PS3 Slim, Vita, untold amounts of leaks before major events for Sony, and they’ve actually done a fairly decent job of keeping the lid on things. Color me surprised that they were able to keep the lid on the PS4 for so long.

They’ve kept quiet for the rest of their announcements for 2 reasons. First, it’s really easy to look like the good guy if you let your competition make all the mistakes and adjust your policies before you even announce a word about them. And 2, there’s a great deal to be said for staggering your information dumps so as not to overwhelm people in one fell swoop, and so that you continuously have large bombshells to drop at your discretion.

And we have heard from Sony, they’ve said Gamescom will be the show where they go full PS4. Could be hype, but it makes sense given they haven’t really shown ‘too many’ games for the PS4 yet, while having said there’s over 100 already in production.

Exclusive? If true I might just have to buy both consoles and then go under Debt Counseling.

That would cause massive fan rage for Bethesda. It’s highly unlikely, I don’t think they’ll risk it. That said, stranger things have happened, and everyone’s got their price right?

I doubt that. And leave out PC?

You shouldn’t piss off a mob of pc gamers. The only thing preventing them from tipping cars is physical ability.

Meh, finished Fallout 3 and it was okay. More of a gap filler while I was waiting for Skyrim though. Had some fun but it’s not a must buy for me. Never got into the whole 1950/60’s vibe which was also a major gripe of mine about the original Bioshock. Loved going back to rapture in Bio Infinite though, weird.
Anyway, I seriously doubt that that it would be much more than a timed exclusive like Oblivion was for the X360 if it is indeed Fallout 4.

I’m sure Sony will also announce and hopefully show more exclusives at Gamescom. Uncharted 4 would make me very very happy…

Kinect? That is the only thing that will make it unique on the Xbox One. No thanks I am not interested if that is the case.

Since it’s probably some Kinect crap. This is what science says about Kinect 😛

Actually no, science does not say that. You should read more. Science says smoking pot and ingesting pot shows promising signs of killing cancer cells, among a vast array of other health related benefits.

Governments…say smoking pot is bad for you. Governments (Such as the US) say Pot is as bad as Heroin (Schedule 1). Governments (US) have restricted public funding for research into the benefits of medical marijuana, because Governments are ruled by big business.

Government’s are beholden to those industries that helped put them into office. Government’s realize that marijuana represents a massive threat to a variety of cash crop industries and cook up ridiculous movies like ‘Reefer Madness’ to scare the populace into obedience (Reefer Madness was bankrolled by Dow Chemicals and William Randolph Hearst)

Dow Chemicals (at the time) had the market cornered on the synthetic fiber market (Nylon etc…), Cannabis is the strongest fiber in the world. William Randolph Hearst, at the time had cornered the paper market through his wood pulp factories. Cannabis is cheaper to grow, cheaper to process, and creates stronger paper than wood, takes less time to grow.

Hemp oil burns cleaner, and hotter than petroleum, and is cheaper to produce and refine than petroleum based oil. Hemp is also cheaper and cleaner to refine into cloth than cotton. These are just a FEW of the reasons why marijuana was vilified by world Governments. It has nothing to do with it’s social effects, and everything to do with the massive textile industries that it could (would) threaten.
