Mighty No 9 has been officially delayed

I’ve been waiting years (and years!) for a decent Mega-Man game, which seems like something that will never, ever happen. Keiji Inafune and Comcept’s Mighty No 9, a kickstarter project that’s essentially Mega Man under a different name has been the bright light at the end of a rather depressing tunnel. It seems though, that the bright light is actually that of an incoming train.

For a few weeks now, there have been rumours, spurred on by various retailers, that Mighty No 9 has been hit with a delay. I’ve largely ignored them, willing them to be false bits of news spread to make people like me unhappy, or something restricted to the game’s physical release. I’ve very much taken the “head-in-the-sand” approach to news of its ilk, because I’d like to believe that I’ll play Mighty No 9 this year.

I won’t be.

It’s now been confirmed that Mighty No 9 has slipped to 2016, and my own levels have happiness have slipped to just one little notch above “emo.”

“As we have communicated in the updates to our backers, all of the core content for the game is developed and in a complete state,” a post on the game’s official, backers-only forums reads. “However, there are still bugs and issues pertaining to the online features that are included in the game. These bugs and issues have a direct affect on enjoyment of the game, so a decision was made to work these issues out before release.

“Currently, comcept and their partners are working at full capacity to resolve these issues and fix any remaining bugs.”

The developers are now aiming for a release in the first quarter of next year. Bah!

WTF is Inafune doing. ……F*** man, he milked his OWN name for all its worth. Playing on the broken promises of Legends 3 with Red Ash KS and making an anime for a game he has yet to release because he knows how much people love Megaman…F this man, I trust Iga more than I do this man.Even Kamiya said he’s just a ‘business man’.

This is starting to smell like a high profile stinker, especially after hearing what a disaster the Red Ash KS turned into. Sucks for the backers, & I’m really glad I’m not one of them.

He played on our nostalgia, a bit too much. I believe he started in earnest but something, somewhere along the line, it went wrong…Hope Bloodstained doesn’t turn out the same way but I have more faith in Iga.

LOVE it. People lose their SHIT when this game is pushed back, but when Whitcher III was, people were like ‘nah, that’s cool, want a decent game’…

I think when CDPR tells people they need to delay the game, people see its CDPR and know that they are not shady as fuck.

With this, This has been in development since 2013, been crowdfunded and they have consistently tried to fuck over the backers. IF W3 was crowd funded and then decided to push it back, maybe i could understand a backlash.

Comparing W3 to MNo 9 is literally apples and oranges.

      My 2c anyway 🙂
