Thomas Was Alone HD

Here at Lazygamer, we have the softest of spots for Indie developer, Mike Bithell. How much do we love him? So much so that we’ve stalked him, at various international gaming conventions as a matter of fact, through crowds of thousands of sweaty people, just to say hi! Now imagine how exciting it is for us to hear that he is working on not one, but two brand new games.

What is he working on? According to an interview with MCV, something small, and something big (via PC Gamer):

“I have a smaller project which I think will surprise people by how quickly it comes out. It’s something I’ve been fiddling with since the end of Volume, so about six months. A little idea – a few ideas I’ve bashed together, actually.

Then there’s definitely seismic, massive stuff as well which is super exciting and completely secret. Volume opened some very cool doors. We were already talking to various people about various things but once Volume came out and sold well and reviewed well, a lot of people became interested in working with us.”

Dang, no real solid information on either! At least according to Bithell, we won’t have to wait too long to play the smaller project.

As for the bigger project, we’ll have to wait a lot longer I’m sure. I’m curious to see what it is exactly. If Bithell is going to work with a bigger team, and a bigger budget, it could be something really spectacular! I just hope it doesn’t lose that indie charm.

Admittedly, I’ve not gotten around to playing Volume (Zoe loved it though), but I did play Thomas Was Alone. To this day, it remains one of my all time favourite gaming experiences. I could definitely use more of that in my life, lots more!

As punishment, you have to play TWA

Wait, that is not punishment, but a privilege!
