Mirror’s Edge, Plants vs. Zombies sequels out next year

E3 is just a few weeks away, but EA felt necessary to share release date details about some of their most anticipated titles before taking the stage this year. Aside from Star Wars: Battlefront, the publisher is expected to give updates on the Mirror’s Edge sequel, Titanfall and possibly new Plants vs. Zombie games. At the very least, we now know when they’re all expected to hit shelves.

During an earnings call last night, EA mapped out their release schedule for the next fiscal year, which ends on April 1st 2016. The schedule listed all the various sports titles expected for Q4 of this year, as well as DICE’s Star Wars Battlefront in November. A new, unannounced Need for Speed title is also expected to release sometime this year – although I expect we’ll get our first good look at it next month.

But the one game you probably care about the most won’t be ready for 2015. The highly anticipated sequel/reboot of Mirror’s Edge hasn’t really been top of the news pile, but I’m sure many are expecting a good, proper look at it this coming E3. The game itself is only expected to be ready during the first three months of 2016 though, so don’t get too excited just yet.

It’ll join a brand new Plants vs. Zombies game, which EA have said will be a sequel to the incredibly addictive Garden Warfare spin-off. That’s another title that will probably get a lot of stage time next month, and I’m particularly excited to see how the franchise will evolve. Speaking of shooters, Titanfall 2 didn’t feature on the list of games at all – meaning it’s not going to be ready anytime before April 1st 2016.

What does that leave in terms of surprises for next month’s conference? I’m not exactly sure, but right now I’d settle for a proper gameplay demo of Mirror’s Edge in action. Seriously, we need that by now.

That’s the upside of the vault , you wait for that dry month of gaming , pay one months sub , download all there sports and mods and get through the month for cheap, rinse and repeat every year.

hardline is so poor in the MP department , its littraly a skin pack , Stars is a reskin u so right , EA want big bucks for little innovation in a already stale “meta” or market

This is pretty much (and sadly) exactly what I expected from Hardline and EA

My only issue with Mirror’s Edge was that stupid autosave function that saves at the worst and most inconvenient times, making fun turn into frustration very quickly.

Only game on that list I want and will buy: Fifa 16… but this time I will wait for patch 2, waited till patch 1 landed for 15 and the game was still broken. so now I have moved on to patch 2 and the way gaming is going I can see that I will start waiting a year after release before I get games.

I don’t think Titanfall’s developers would be stupid enough to make their game an exclusive again would they? Surely they will make it for the PS4, PC and Xbox ONE this time around?

I heard something like that. Maybe it will have a SP campaign to this time round?

I wouldn’t be surprised if it has “emergent game play” where you “make your own story”.

I would love to play Titanfall, but I can’t find it anywhere any more. And I heard that you have to get the last update to be able to play, but with the game gone from the online stores, we can’t update. So now a broken game? Can anyone confirm? Or have everyone moved on from the FallingTitan game?!

I think more people are still playing Titan Fall than Evolve.

Meh-lectronic F-Arts…. I’m really not sure whether Mirrors Edge 2 would have the impact of the first one, it was a really cool concept, but now we have Dying Light (speaking of which, have they released physical copies yet?) which is Mirror’s Edge Deluxe remastered with Zombies…

It’s kinda interesting that the only sports game being released on PC is Fifa.

EA…. Don’t feck up Star Wars and Mirrors Edge…. Oh who am I kidding, it’s EA we’re talking about here. The infamous company that sells you incomplete games, makes you pay more for the game to be completed through DLC and does it while sleeping soundly at night.

The only reason they sleep soundly is that they can afford to make a better counter-offer to the assassins.
