More Fall update details – No more demo history

Microsoft has been speaking in Japan recently about what we can expect in the soon to be released Fall update…

The Marketplace is going to be re-organised, which is not the most ground breaking news.

You will be able to add some more information in your profile… why would I want to?

Your XBLA demo’s can now be deleted from your gamercard details… finally. This has been requested ever since the Arcade was launched and I am glad they are finally actually implementing it..

That’s it, so nothing to ground breaking but all in all it looks like it is going to be a solid upgrade, if not fantastic.

    So far we’ve got:

    Marketplace reorg
    Friends of Friends
    Parental Timer
    Xbox Live originals

    (and IPTV, but in parallel)

    What more do we want?
    DivX?
    RSS?
    advergames?

Don’t forget Clan Blades which I think has been confirmed, also the ability to organise friends by games has been confirmed.

I also want a bigger friends list and wouldn’t mind local live approval

I’ve always wondered… why, o why is it called the “Fall Update”. Seeing that Fall has already passed in USA and they are well on their way into Winter… or is there something I’m missing?

Will this count for normal game demo’s as well. I hate it that it shows all the demo’s.

I will like Divx support and normal internet browsing.

This will enhance the multimedia features.

@ Naudran, because maybe they are STILL in Autumn? Winter only starts on the 21st December for them.

    Ooo sorry, forgot clans.

@Lazy – listen to the Live is five podcasts, bigger friends lists are physically not possible because of limits carried over from Xbox 1. – the new FoF is their way of alleviating that – I’m thinking mule accounts.

They also have interesting info on why we don’t have live here yet.

Live is 5 was last weeks XBL birthday celebrations, and on his blog, major nelson posted a bunch of interviews with key persons involved with the launch of live.

There’s 3 or 4, each of which is insightful in a slightly different way.
