Dark is a vampire stealth game from Realmforge studios, coming to PC and Xbox mid-2013. Without any glitter or bizarre romantic (stalking) inclinations, it goes back to having vampires as awesome killers. Dark features a stealthy vampire in a hoody, because we all know hoodies make us invisible.
Remember back in the day when people ragged on Prototype for the “you are mutant, now go” version of a plot line? Yeah, well, Dark is doing something similar. Hiding in shadows and stalking your prey, you must search for the truth about your past and the present.
It features interesting 3D cell-shaded graphics, along with a variety of awesome vampire skills that you can use to evade, control and kill your enemies. For those of you who are as geeky as me, you might remember some of these skills from playing Vampire: The Masquerade (the real, table-top version, not that PC game). Have a look at the skills trailer
So, love it or gonna pass on it? Somehow, it just hasn’t captured my attention too much. Maybe it’s just got too many cliches for me.

Yeah, loved that game!
PIty it was a bit broken though. Last time I played it was with a patch to restore some content, broke the game (literally), and never played again.
BRUJAH FTW baby!

The community patch is still going strong, makes a huge difference to the game.
You haven’t played until you’ve played Malkavian – the dialogue options are insane (pun intended).

Yeah, played em all, Malk is fun!
Started with Gangrel mind you, then Brujah, then Malk then I can’t remember the sequence after that. Think Nosferatu.
Also, character animation was quite, ummmm, entertaining 😉
The one reminds me of Harley Quinn from AA and AC

Never played Nosferatu. Didn’t want to appear all ugly to people in the game 😛 That and the snobbish class that the Prince belonged to.

It added a different level of gameplay though

Ye Malkavian FTW.
You get all the fun conversation pieces.
The TV presenter speaks to you and tells you a joke, the fish in the restaurant start speaking about the apocalypse.
Fun times, but super buggy.

I remember being asked a simple yes/no question by a NPC & sitting there for a minute trying to figure out which of the 5 options meant yes 😀

Fuuuuuck! You just brought back some seriously repressed memories my friend. I remember that too, and getting SO frustrated! I also remember, when I was much younger playing the live role-playing version of this over a weekend, wow, mental and lots of fun.

Troika released 3 criminally under-appreciated RPGs: Arcanum, Temple of Elemental Evil & this. All kick-ass games, but yes, badly beaten with the bug-stick on release.

One of my favourite games, ever – and I bought it by fluke. I was dead keen on seeing Valve’s SOURCE tech used for the first time, and I went out trying to find HL2 – but only saw VTM in stores.

Lol that tech gave rise to some very funny graphical issues. It’s always awesome when you find and love a game by accident

Yeah, that was cool. I still remember the haunted house mission, with children’s toys moving around.

This whole hoodie business needs to be dropped. Sheesh… wish they made a really dark and cool Vampire game that doesnt suck. This game somehow looks very generic.
