If you played the last game in the Mortal Kombat series, you’d not only have been disappointed by its cumbersome controls, you’d also have looked on in abject horror at the lame, teen-rated fatalities. Batman swarms his stunned enemy with bats who then just falls down? Really?
It looks like you won’t have to worry about that with Mortal Kombat 9, due next month. After the jump you’ll see a collection of the game’s fatalities – and It’s easy to see why this game’s been banned in Australia and Germany. Bloody ‘ell they’re violent and gratuitously gory – just the way Mortal Kombat should be. Oh yeah…if you’re male, and Kung Lao’s featured fatality doesn’t make you wince – you’re made of sterner stuff than I. Ugghhh.
It looks like Mortal Kombat’s back. Or at least it will be, on April 29 for PS3 and Xbox 360.
