Mortal Kombat returns for a second legacy-filled season

Apparently sharks are only responsible for a handful of fatalities every year.  Probably because its hard to get a copy of Mortal Kombat to work in the ocean.

Mortal Kombat was, without a doubt, the fighting game to own in 2011. The nostalgic return to traditional gameplay, mixed in with new technological advances made for one outstanding game, but it also brought with it a great promotional tool, in the form of Mortal Kombat Legacy, a web-exclusive series of short episodes that gave a familiar universe a real world spin.

And it’s returning for a second season.

Announced over at the San Diego Comic Con, director Kevin Tancharoens gave a video sneak peek of who to expect in his second season, explaining how season 2 would take the groundwork laid out in the first season, and plunge straight into the Mortal Kombat tournament.

See for yourself in the video below, which might not be the announce trailer that you were expecting.

That wasn’t Sub Zero and Scorpion fighting in a battle to end all slaps battles. That was myself and Geoff having another disagreement over which Mortal Kombat was the bestest. (It’s Annihilation, totally)
