My Fairlady is in the full car list for Need For Speed

I’m actually feeling a bit excited for the Need For Speed this year. The beta was a great slice of the content, even though it did make me feel like an ancient fossil when my driver interacted with characters who spoke and dressed like they had stepped out of an early 2000s Limp Bizkit music video.

Speaking of soft metal, there was plenty of it bent over the chassis of various vehicles in the game. You’re only allowed a limited number of cars in your garage at any one time in Need For Speed. But you’ll have plenty to choose from when the game rolls around.

Here’s the full car list for Need For Speed, which has 51 vehicles of POOOOOOOOWER:

  • Acura RSX-S
  • BMW M2
  • BMW M3 E46
  • BMW M3 E92
  • BMW M3 Evolution II E30
  • BMW M4
  • Chevrolet Camaro Z28
  • Chevrolet Corvette Z06
  • Dodge Challenger SRT8
  • Dodge SRT Viper
  • Ferrari 458 Italia
  • Ferrari F40
  • Ford Focus RS
  • Ford Mustang
  • Ford Mustang Boss 302
  • Ford Mustang Fox Body
  • Ford Mustang GT
  • Honda Civic Type-R
  • Honda NSX Type-R
  • Honda S2000
  • Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4
  • Lamborghini Diablo SV
  • Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4
  • Lamborghini Murciélago LP 670–4 SV
  • Lotus Exige S
  • Mazda MX-5 1996
  • Mazda MX-5 2015
  • Mazda RX7 Spirit R
  • McLaren 570S
  • Mercedes-AMG GT
  • Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution MR
  • NISSAN 180sx Type X
  • NISSAN Fairlady 240ZG
  • NISSAN GT-R Premium
  • NISSAN Silvia Spec-R
  • NISSAN Skyline GT-R KPGC10
  • NISSAN Skyline GT-R V-Spec 1993
  • NISSAN Skyline GT-R V-Spec 1999
  • Porsche 911 Carrera RSR 2.8-
  • Porsche 911 Carrera S (991)
  • Porsche 911 Carrera S (993)
  • Porsche 911 GT3 RS
  • Porsche Cayman GT4
  • Scion FR-S
  • SUBARU BRZ Premium
  • SUBARU IMPREZA WRX STI
  • Toyota GT86
  • Toyota Sprinter GT Apex
  • Toyota Supra SZ-R
  • Volkswagen Golf GTI
  • Volvo 242

I’ve always had a fond spot for Ford Mustangs, cars which take corners like a song about rather large posteriors and Sir Mix-A-Lot’s fondness for them. Need For Speed is out on November 3 for PS4 and Xbox One.

I’ve spent a couple of hours on it, and it has clearly poached quite a few ideas from Forza Horizon and Project Gotham Racing, namely with the respect system that dishes out points for cool moves. And not that there’s anything wrong with that, because I’ll take any spiritual successor to PGR that I can get my hands on.

Even if it does include a character that I’d like to introduce face-first to the ocean.

I like that idea. Makes you appreciate the cars you have more.
Hopefully they at least have odometers, otherwise that idea seems a bit useless.

I’m playing The Crew now and you can’t sell cars there, so you just keep getting more and more as you try new ones. But I’ve also only really used one car a lot (and then each different car per discipline of course). It’s a great game though.

I don’t know dude me personally I HATE the cockpit view I actually want to look at the amazing car I build and awesome graphics the cockpit view for me personally completely spoils the feel of the game. Also I don’t do the whole manual transmission ever so for me it’s good, but it is a feature I guess that should be in the game for people that enjoy it..

I rarely use it myself. But people have been asking for it…along with the manual transmission from day one. It’s just proof that EA isn’t really listening to their customers.
I just think a game about car culture with no OPTION for manual transmission is a bit of a joke. I would never buy a game if it doesn’t have manual.

I agree look they should have it I guess the manual transmission for sure I do not use it myself but it should be an option definitely. I don’t know dude I really want a good arcade racer and I think this is going to be good one well at least I hope! Myself I can honestly say I have never used the manual option on any racing game but I understand why people do use it!

          • Commander JJ of the Normandy

            October 20, 2015 at 10:25

Well, I’ve got The Crew now. So it’ll serve as my arcade racer. And I played the Wild Run beta and it’s looking great. Already 70hrs into the game and not bored with it yet.
I really would’ve liked this…but I always play manual and I use my analogue sticks for throttle…(Rivals didn’t even allow me to use those). So the newer NFS titles just don’t appeal to me at all. I wouldn’t know what to do with my other fingers. 😉

            October 20, 2015 at 10:29

Really wanted to try the Crew but the whole online MMO thing kind of threw me off and not so great reviews, I don’t need another online time sinker like Destiny:)

            October 20, 2015 at 10:31

The map is so immense at 5000+sqkm. But it really is a time sink…especially with friends.
The handling is arcade, as you would expect…but honestly (apart from Uplay giving issues every once in a while) I don’t understand what people find wrong with it.

          • Nikola

            October 20, 2015 at 10:37

I heard the map is massive and it does look good!! Yeah that is the only reason why I didn’t pick it up honestly is because knowing myself and online games I will get super into it aaaand then backlog keeps on growing no no still trying to get past whole Destiny addiction:)

When Enzo Ferrari was invited to an event by Mercedes to demonstrate their braking capabilities, he declined, stating, “I make cars to go, not to stop!”, Mercedes went on to win the rest of the series with their improved braking system for a few seasons afterwards… In racing, having control of how quickly you reduce speed, by means of braking and by means of gearing down, helps you to get into corners faster, setting up the vehicle for the speedy exit, driving an automatic car is one thing, racing with it is a death sentence…

          • Nikola

            October 20, 2015 at 10:28

Very true I agree in real life I drive a manual I could have chosen my VW R with the DSG gearbox or manual but went with the manual and it’s soooo much better no lag whatsoever! Manual > Automatic anyday. Just in games its a mission haha

          • Greylingad[CNFRMD]

            October 20, 2015 at 10:31

The biggest problem with racing games is that you need a steering wheel, not only are they pricey, but if you don’t have something solid to mount it on you’ll end up tipping your screen or worse breaking everything around you going through a corner, so it becomes expensive, hell, the other day I was loking at pricing for a wheel, for a properly built, high quality one you’ll be paying about 3.5 to 4 Gs, it’s ridiculous…

          • Commander JJ of the Normandy

            October 20, 2015 at 10:29

What I also like about it…is it leaves more room for error. When we’re having 6-car drags on the salt plains in The Crew you can still lose to a car below spec of yours if you make a shifting error. In the new NFS it’s just “press button to go fast”.
I don’t blame people for using it, at all…it’s preference after all, so that’s fine. But don’t give us half a racing game.

          • Greylingad[CNFRMD]

            October 20, 2015 at 10:33

Agreed, I’m more of a racing sim supporter, the arcadey ones tend to feel flimsy and rather limiting…

            October 20, 2015 at 10:34

I agree. For sure. I love my sims racers more than anything else, but there’s just a lot of fun to be had in an open world car game…so I could’n’t resist getting The Crew 🙂

To be fair, it is a re-boot to keep up with modern gamers. Modern gamers don’t have time to fiddle about with stick shift or think during the off-line campaign. They just want to plug in and play while showing off like the Destiny fans.

Also why Black Ops 3 has allowed all chapters in the campaign to be accessible from the start lol

In the 7 years that I have been on this site I have now accepted the fact that the 15 year olds 7 years ago are all now large and in-charge.

Those NES screens that were posted yesterday to celebrate the 30th of the NES make me feel totally obsolete in modern gaming culture. I actually feel as though I am growing out of the hobby.

No mans sky is the last saving grace for the introverted gamers. I will buy the most expensive internet in South Africa just for that game.

          • Commander JJ of the Normandy

            October 20, 2015 at 10:00

It’s sad really. I’ve seen it even with RTS games. It’s like they’ve accepted that the new generations have gotten stupider, and now it’s okay.

The online thing I can understand…to an extent. Their larger market has good internet. And it’s a good deterrent for piracy. Just sucks for us.

          • oVg

            October 20, 2015 at 10:05

Yip that’s the simple truth. I remember Geoff was feeling it a year ago when he started posting articles about growing out of gaming. I told him its not us who grow out of gaming but the market that grow out of us. The market never keeps up with the gamers. It stays at the entry level like Nintendo.

Games with a mature audience like The Witcher are few and far between.

          • Commander JJ of the Normandy

            October 20, 2015 at 10:09

            Absolutely.
Even things like (dare I say it) Deus Ex. HR seemed to simplify everything so much.
The stealth was just so much easier than in the original.

It’s not so much about earning your achievements and rewards in a game. It’s about making the gamer feel like an invincible action hero.

Nope, that’s the GP version, scaled down it’s 5.148km, the full nurburgring is about 22 km, but the P1 should go around it in under 7 minutes

            October 20, 2015 at 10:18

To give you an idea of the speed around the GP trakc, the P1 averages about 150km/h, which is bloody fast, but, in formula car, on the same track you can, with quite a lot of ease, slice about 30 seconds off of that time(2:06)…

          • oVg

            October 20, 2015 at 10:20

lol To think that back in the day the Formula 1 used the full 22km track but they could not memorize all the corners. After countless fatalities they decided to scrap it lol I suppose not having seat belts contributed.

And now that I think of it. Not a single Aston Martin on the list as well. It would be epic if they brought the new Aston DB10 into the game that will be in the new Bond movie. EA got it wrong :/

Lambo, Ferrari and Porsche in one game…haven’t seen that in a while.
Not that it would make me even consider this title.
    More of the same here.

    Scion FR-S
    Toyota 86
    Subaru BRZ
So it’s 49 cars in total. Those are the same car, just re-badged with a few tiny tweaks.

But there is no Fairlady z or for normal people, 350z or 370z and they put the 180sx in instead of the 240sx, what a waste, the other cars must be paid dlc
