A new NBA Jam is releasing, yay! It’s only coming out on Wii without multiplayer or HD, Awww.

No, it’s now coming in HD and multiplayer packaged free with NBA Elite 11, yay! It’s not going to have the same cool modes as the Wii one though, awww. Oh wait, NBA Elite 11 is dealyed, maybe even cancelled, awww. That now means that NBA Jam is going to be released by itself, yay!

Oh no… wait, wait, wait… EA have now decided that instead of keeping it a digital download, it’s going to be released on disc. Awww.

Hang on, do these guys expect us to now pay full price?

According to EA, the standalone disc version of NBA Jam will be released on the Xbox 360 and PS3 “in time for the holidays”. This makes me think that after all of the news and attention NBA Jam has been getting lately, EA think that there previously free packaged game.

The part I fear the most is that they have not yet supplied details about price but say that they will inform the world soon. When I played NBA Jam on the Wii at E3 I really liked it and as much as I think it is going to rock on PS3 and Xbox 360, I just don’t see how it can be sold as a standalone product for the price of a full game.

Let’s hope that somehow, EA decided to release the game for a cheaper price and are only banking on the disc version to get the game into stores for more exposure.

  1. This game has me confused. I read a couple of reviews that say the Wii MC controls are brilliant while the Classic controller controls not so much. So im wondering if the PS version will have some kind of Move support or if the controls are being tweaked. Anyone heard anything?

I’ve played the Wii version and the controls were quite fun, however I see absolutely no reasons why it shouldn’t play perfectly on a pad. I’m gonna probably play on my arcade stick to keep it like old times 😀
