New Borderlands 2 DLC will make the game even more difficult

Last year, we made Borderlands 2 our game of 2012, and at the rate that I’m still playing the game, it might be a 2013 winner as well. The latest DLC has injected some new life into the game, but developer Gearbox isn’t done yet as they’ll be bustin’ a level cap in yo ass soon.

Borderlands 2 will see the current level cap go up by 11, allowing characters to shoot their way up to level 72. That upgrade comes with the “Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 2: Digistruct Peak Challenge”, while the “Headhunter pack” rounds things off which Gearbox confirmed at PAX Australia via Kotaku.

In addition, Borderlands 1 veteran and eventual meat puppet TK Baha will be making a return of sorts in those two DLC extensions, which will have new maps and a new mode where the enemies have been dialled up to 11 on the difficulty scale. As if Ultimate Vault Hunter mode wasn’t hard enough, judging by the fact that my lvl 51 Siren has yet to make it past the first Bandit camp.

And now the bad news. Season Pass holders will not be getting this content for free, but will instead need to fork out some dollars. The current season pass is finished as of the latest Tiny Tina-centric DLC, So expect to see a season 2 pass soon I reckon.

The new content is out in the American fall

Picked this up along with all current DLC during the Steam Sale. I still have to install it but the problem is I got Dragonborn as well for Skyrim which I started last night with a new character (lost my 260hr save game) and I’m already a level 10 so I’m addicted all over again.

I’m sitting on lv 50, and have been for the past 10 hours of play. I haven’t even gone up 1mm of an experience bar. Anyone else have this problem? Rather frustrating to keep killing shit and not move in the exp department.

Do you have the level cap increase pack? Just make sure its installed, otherwise you won’t move past level 50 because that was the original level cap.

      Otherwise time to hit UVHM!

Yeah, I have all the packs.Maybe I need to switch to UVHM. Problem is, when you are playing with friends who are lv 20/35/40 they stand no damn chance #neednewfriends

I had a lvl 18 friend join my lvl 42 game – it wasn’t pretty. On the plus side, completing 3 little side quests made him lvl 21 & now I’ve actually revived someone more than once.

I had my friend who was lvl 4 join my game for the final boss of the pirates dlc and a single farming run of the warrior.

took him to 17 with a bonus XP relic on.

Yep, you need to switch to UVHM in order to get those level increases. But that mode is rather…hard.

Hard? When I get tired of having my arse handed to me on UVHM I go spend some relaxing time playing DARK SOULS. 🙁

Hahaha! Nice, I am sure I have already played on this. All the bad chaps are level 50+ right?

Yessss…. I wandered into it with my lvl 54 commando thinking it would be no more difficult really than TVHM. The first bullymongs I encountered in the Southern Shelf made me aware of the error of my ways.

its tough at the beginning if you didnt get the best gear in TVHM.
i played with a lvl 50 bee shield and sandhawk all the way through my sirens run through UVHM and it made it muuuuuuuuch easier.
i did my first UVHM run through on my commando with mediocre gear and it was a nightmare to get through.

Are you still playing on true vault hunter mode? Once you switch to ultimate vault hunter mode your experience goes up almost as fast as you die 🙁

Mmm, I have been playing with 3 others in Tiny Tina’s Fun house thingy, and even after a few hours not one slither of an EXP bar. Worried there is a bug as has happened before.
