As the end of the year draws closer and closer the hype machine for Gears of War 2 is already warm and well oiled.

A whole heap of new screenshots have been released and they are looking mighty fine.

After having a good look at these screenshots though, I came to the conclusion that a couple of them are either shots of pre-rendered sequences or screens that have been tampered with in photoshop. Well, either that or this game is looking a whole lot better than I expected.

Screens and link after the jump.

I think everyone should view the video. This game is going to blow everything out of the water. Everything.

Looks like Gears 1. Which isnt really a bad thing, considering it’s still the best looking 360 title out there. 😉

You have to see 1+2 side by side and in motion. The videos out yesterday are awesome. The difference is in the detail and the finish. These screenshots don’t do it justice.

Yeah, dude, you definitely need a new monitor because those graphics look sensational 🙂 . If I may add, I doubt they will surpass the graphics of this other game released this year, but that’d be an unfair expectation. They may match, but surpassing will take a super human effort. The guys at Epic aren’t normal developers, though 😉 …

Metal Gear Solid 4 will be a distant memory, like one on the receiving end of the new long shot execution, it will be crushed.
