Ninja Gaiden II also sub-HD

Ninja Gaiden Gore

Yet another high profile game makes the headlines for all the wrong reasons..

The guys over at Beyond3d.com have been testing the Xbox 360 exclusive, Ninja Gaiden II’s, screenshots and they have come up short… again.

According to those very clever people the game is only running at 585P, which is a whopping 130 lower than the minimum accepted HD standard…

This game is just yet another in a long line of sub HD AAA titles and really does make a mockery of the original claims of HD gaming and heaven forbid 1080p titles…

I have never thought that graphics are the most important thing in gaming but this is getting a bit silly now, if this carries on we are going to start getting SD games released again…

To be honest would you have noticed? I mean visually it probably will still blow your socks off. Perhaps they just decided that they wanted to add more visual effects? And 720p just wasn’t cutting it.

It’s the same thing with the GTAIV PS3 version. They cut the resolution but at the end of the day the visuals benefitted from it.

It’s more important for this game to deliver good framerate performance than high resolution, but apparently it still suffers from some slowdown.

Did these guys check out the resolution on Ninja Gaiden Sigma?

I have come to the conclusion that the resolution doesnt really matter as long as the game still looks good. But My problem with all of this is that we are not getting whats been promised to us. Before our money is spent on consoles all we hear is HD HD HD HD HD! After the money is spent, we hear that its not actually really HD.

So the end result isnt my problem, its just the broken promises and false claims. If you went to buy a 46″ HDTV and you open the box and its only a 42″, you aint gonna be happy. And if you go back to the store and the guys says” Meh, you cant really tell the difference” are you going to accept that and leave the store with a smile on your face?

What I think it means in the end is that HD is overblown. HD is just crisper detail, but says nothing to realism or artistic value, two things are are far more important.
