Nintendo 3DS Price Leaked–Prepare for the pain

We just posted about all the specs making up the Nintendo 3DS and now it seems that Nintendo’s other big secret, the price, has now been leaked.

Unfortunately all of us hoping for a nice cheap or affordable handheld are going to be left waiting for quite some time with an estimated retail price being set at €349, which works out to an eye watering R3 178 at an exact exchange rate which means we are more likely looking at R3 600.

That’s too rich for my blood unfortunately and I am personally hoping that this leaked price is completely over the top.

And the price of an Iphone 4 at R7000 is totally reasonable right?
Apple know how to milk the pulic , so Nintendo is not so bad.

Apple has a much larger target market and a much larger group of sycophants …. I mean loyal fan base.

Are they turning an immediate profit at this price for the units?

That is pretty expensive, and I would usually be reluctant to spend that kind of money. That being said, if it is as good as it is looking, and the games provide as much entertainment for me as the DS, than I may still get it for that price!

When I played the 3DS at E3 I was impressed as all hell, but R3600 impressed?? I don’t think so. That’s just plain ludicrous

I want one but not sure if I want it bad enough to pay R3600. If the South African launch titles are similar to the Japanese ones then I don’t mind waiting a while for the price to drop

I can officially announce that it will not cost this much money.

The cost in japan is going to be 25,000¥ which translates to about £189.76
When the first DS was released, it was at 15,000¥ which translates to £113.86 but was sold for £99.99. So over the years they have taken down the price from the translation although the DSi models were raised couple of quid from translation. If I had to guess the price, I would guess somewhere between £180 to £200

I hope this clears things up.

I hope you took my last message as a proof that it is all posibilities and you SHOULD NOT BELIEVE any websites like this, and wait ’til 19th, when the prices will be announced. It’s just a few more days, contain your anxiety of posting crap.

    $467 USD. Wow. Just, wow.

I think I’ll stick with my Galaxy S and my PS3.
