Nintendo DS Coming in November

The local Nintendo forums have been in contact with the Core Group to find out about the availability of the other Nintendo products.

Now when I asked I was told that the DS would only be arriving next year sometime, obviously they prefer to give real answers to the Nintendo community 😉

Anyway here is the answer that Ms Chetty received

Hi Ms. Chetty
I hope you are well. Thank you for your interest in Nintendo. The DS Lite will be returning to South Africa and we expect stock around November. From our communication with many game publishers, a wide range of DS games will be available. Furthermore Nintendo titles, like Brain Training and Zelda Phantom Hourglass, will also be available. We will update our website as soon as more information becomes available.
Many thanks
Candice Katz

So who is getting a DS for Christmas?

Watch, it’s gonna cost like R1500. After the Wii pricing incident, my finger really is up at core.

I think a Wii is enough for now, getting a DS at the prices the Core group sells items is simply not on.

Id the DS better than a PSP? I’ve got myself a PSP and it’s pretty cool. My friend bought a DS lite when he was overseas and after fiddling around with the DS, I ended up liking the PSP more. Although the DS have 2 screens, the PSP’s screen is much larger. Also the PSP is much more powerfull. Whats the deal with the DS???

I gotta agree with slippy, I have had quite a lot of play time on both, and I gotta say I prefer the psp, although Ninti does have some classic fun games which makes the portable worth while.

@abev, of course you do you’re a Sony fanboy :p. I think it comes down to personal preference with the DS vs PSP but I prefer the DS b/c Nintendo are the masters of handheld gaming and the DS has a greater variety games. Plus Nintendo have more well established handhled franchises like Pokemon and have created some new ones like Brain Training and Nintendogs. Can’t wait to pick up my second one during Xmas(the family are hogging the current one).
