If you are one of the millions of COD4 gamers who were looking forward to your COD4 trophies just magically appearing you are going to be waiting for a long time.
Even though it had been rumoured all over the place that trophy support was going to be retrospectively added to all the main titles that have been released on the PS3, this doesn’t seem to be the case.
Insomniac, Infinity Ward and 2K games have all come out and said that they are not going to be adding trophy support to pre-released games.
But you can bet your bottom dollar that COD5 is going to have trophies…

I’m not surprised, it’s a waste of time for 3rd party devs to go back and add trophies now. (unless Sony incentivises them somehow)
With MS it’s a requirment. I’ll assume that the trophy system will be a requirement for new PS3 games.

Yea I thought this was a given. Before 2.40 was even launched it was already said that they wouldnt be retrospective. Personally I think its a good thing. Eberyone can start on an even keel!

well retrospective wouldn’t have given anyone an advantage, you’d still have to earn those trophies again (well that was the case with MGS4 anyway)

No developing company will waste resources & hours in creating trophies for games they’ve already released.
Hours = money, and they will be expected to give those updates away for free.
