Oh Great… We Are Going To Have To 'Kinect' With Microsoft Advertising?

Fantastic… just great. If Microsoft didn’t already do a good enough job of making their hardcore fanbase feel severely shafted at E3 last week (fist-bumps anyone?), then fear not because it looks like they aren’t done yet.

It looks like Microsoft have filed a U.S trademark for something they like to call ‘NUAds’ and that just makes me want to say ‘NADS’ instead, and for good reason.

The trademark has the following description listed:

Advertising services, namely, promoting and marketing the goods and services of others through online interactive video games by enabling consumers to interact with third-party advertising content through voice or body gestures via computer game console and sensor devices.

This doesn’t mean that the ads are going to be a reality just yet, and if enough of fuss is made about it online then maybe Microsoft will drop it altogether.

All I know is that if I have to actually perform certain maneuvers to make an advert go away, I will walk straight out of the room and go file my first official complaint. Pull it off well and I’ll tip my hat to them, but I don’t see that happening to be quite frank.
