Overwatch hero 28…is a hamster of death

Hero 28

A high noon cowboy. A Korean mech pilot with elite skills behind a video game console. A Russian bodybuilder who never skips leg day. It’s safe to say that Overwatch has a ton of unique characters in its roster, but its latest hero might just be its most bizarre one yet. We’re still waiting for more details on hero 28 and we’ll update as soon as we have them, but for now say hello…

To a hamster of death.

Every clue up until this point has been leading us to believe that Hero 28 would be Hammond, who was seemingly a super-intelligent monkey with sadistic streak who escaped from the Horizon Lunar Colony where Winston was also raised. Earlier teases in the week showed off the wrecking-ball styled mech seen above, but that also lined up with the orb-like escape craft Hammond used to hitch a ride on Winston’s space pod.

There had been further speculation that Hammond may secretly actually be Wrecking Ball, a mech hero glimpsed on a poster in Junker Town, which is why his name hasn’t been mentioned before. And all of that fit perfectly with the clues we had. Well, except for Hammond being a hamster.

Overwatch heroes aren’t usually revealed on Twitter but instead via a Developer Update video and cinematic clip. We haven’t seen either of those yet, so it appears that Blizzard may just be putting the “roll” in trolling. Then again, as some sleuth pointed on Reddit yesterday, this hamster theory actually checks out.

Yeah man, when you have a child, you watch these movies SO often.
quiz me on animated films, I’d do rather well.
At my boy loves Spiderman, so I get to watch that every once in a while.

Yip. Lost count on the amount of times I have watched Frozen and Moana now. Went through a patch recently of constant Captain Underpants. Now it’s Trolls, Emoji movie, Coco, Ferdinand and Cars 3 being switched in and out

            Sounds VERY familiar!
On the plus side for me right now, my boy has discovered Netflix. I’ve created him his own little profile, so only the kiddie stuff shows up. And there’s LOADS of content for kids, it’s actually really awesome.
I still keep close watch, though, don’t want him accidentally choosing something he shouldn’t.

My 6 year old daughter has her profile and she knows how to use the remote which is good. My 2 year old boy has his profile and I have to sit with him, cause he will pick something and 5 to 10min say he wants something else.

I’m happy they finally made profiles on Hulu. Wife let my son sit with iPad and decide what he wanted to watch, because of the constant chopping and changing. I come through ask him what he is watching. Tells me the Teddy Bear. So I look, he was watching Ted. I immediately was like nope not happening and change it. I explained to my wife who didn’t know, and then also got her to watch it a bit later, that this is definitely not for kids.

            Also sounds very familiar….
It’s so easy to get to content that the kids shouldn’t watch.
Used to happen when my lad did his YouTube surfing. Then we found out about YouTube Kids, which is SO much better.
I mean, even on Netflix, under the kiddie stuff, movies like Goosebumps show up. I really don’t want my 3 year old watching that.
Have to be so careful these days.

Lol got the exact same. Youtube Kids makes it much easier for them to watch the iPad without stressing.
But that Goosebumps show….my daughter insisted on watching one episode and then my son wants to. So they wouldn’t listen and my resolve eventually crumbled, I let them watch one. Just took one. Next thing I got both kids hanging on me and sleeping in our beds that night. Was a random daft episode as well about a guy that ate some insects cause he was a monster. For about a week had my 2 year old telling me about the guy eating insects. They don’t ask for it anymore which is the only plus.

Eesh, yeah, the nightmares can be bad at times.
My boy got them after watching freakin’ Power Rangers.
I told my wife again and again, the content on Cartoon Network is NOT for the young kids, but she insists on putting it on for him.
He saw one promo for Power Rangers, got obsessed with it.
Then suddenly all we heard about was “the monsters”.

Thankfully mine haven’t had any nightmares from watching anything yet. There are some things that I have let my kids watch that other parents would not be happy about and frown on my choices. But hey my kids.
My 2 year old’s favorite movie which I have watched well over 50 times now with him is Hulk with Edward Norton. My kid loves it.

            HULK! My boy LOVES Hulk.
he saw him a few Spiderman episodes, then suddenly it was all “Hulk Smash!”
I’ve shown him the end scene of Avengers, adores it. No nightmares from that one at all.
Absolutely cans himself when Hulk smashes Loki. “Puny god.”

I actually got him the other Hulk to watch as well with Eric Bana. He wasn’t interested. Only likes the Edward Norton one
