Your PC needs to be pretty wild to run Ghost Recon: Wildlands at its best

The graphics look amazig though

Now that I’ve got a laptop that happens to be capable of running Crysis 2 at 480p resolution (IT COST ME R30 000 FOR THIS MUCH HARDWARE!), I may have developed a taste for PC gaming again. It’s kind of nice to have a platform which links up nicely with the ol’ Xbox One, a system which I can play games on and look at websites of questionable taste and quality.

But the point is, I’ve got a somewhat decent machine right now. I’m not looking to overclock my new ROG laptop or push it to the bleeding edge by attempting to run DOOM at 4K visuals, but it’s an option. An option for other games, if I want a little bit more out of them like Lion King mods in Grand Theft Auto V. I’m checking my specs right now with an eye towards Ghost Recon: Wildlands, which Ubisoft says you’ll need the following bare minimum to run:

Minimum: (720p resolution, video preset: low)

  • OS: Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 (64-bit versions only)
  • PROCESSOR: Intel Core i5-2400S @ 2.5 GHz or AMD FX-4320 @ 4 GHz or equivalent
  • VIDEO CARD: NVIDIA GeForce GTX660/GTX750Ti/GTX 950 /GTX1050 or AMD HD7870/R9 270X/R9 370X/RX 460 (2GB VRAM with Shader Model 5.0 or better)VRAM or more – See supported List */**
  • SYSTEM RAM: 6GB

And it’s recommended that you pack hardware of around this level to get the most out of Ghost Recon: Wildlands.

Recommended: (1080p resolution, video preset: high)

  • OS: Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 (64-bit versions only)
  • PROCESSOR: Intel Core i7- 3770 @ 3.5 GHz or AMD FX-8350 @ 4 GHz
  • VIDEO CARD: NVIDIA GeForce GTX970/GTX 1060 or AMD R9 290X /R9 390/RX480 (4GB VRAM with Shader Model 5.0 or better) – See supported List */**
  • SYSTEM RAM: 8GB

Supported NVIDIA cards at time of release:

  • GeForce GTX600 series: (minimum) GeForce GTX660 or better | (recommended) N/A
  • GeForce GTX700 series: (minimum) GeForce GTX750Ti or better | (recommended) N/A
  • GeForce GTX900 series: (minimum) GeForce GTX950 or better | (recommended) GeForce GTX970 or better
  • GeForce GTX10-Series: (minimum) any GeForce GTX10 card | (recommended) GeForce GTX1060 or better

Supported AMD cards at time of release

  • Radeon HD7000 series: (minimum) Radeon HD7870 or better | (recommended) none
  • Radeon 200 series: (minimum) Radeon R9 270x or better | (recommended) Radeon R9 290X or better
  • Radeon 300/Fury X series: (minimum) Radeon R9 370X or better | (recommended) Radeon R9 390 or better
  • Radeon 400 series: (minimum) Radeon RX460 or better | (recommended) Radeon RX480 or better

According to Geoff who’s an expert in this kind of stuff that equals my genius for tasting crayons, those recommended specs are of the relatively beefy variety and I hope your PC is up to the task. Don’t forget, the pre-load for the open beta has begun. You’ll be able to get a taste of the Wildlands from February 23 until the 27th day of this oddly-numbered month, with the full game out on March 7.

      60. We sit too close to the screen for cinematic gaming.

So 2016 was the year of Hard Drive space when it came to games (which is now a standard).

But it seems that 2017 is the year of GPU required for games.

    R.I.P cash …
