Penny Arcade – Hands on with Burnout Paradise City

So Tycho from Penny Arcade has had a hands preview of the new Burnout game and has come out in true Penny Arcade no nonsense style and stated.

Also, in a radical reversal – like you might see in a wrestling match – the Playstation 3 version is clearly the better of the two.  Clearly.

According to Tycho the PS3 version is graphically better, has less framerate issues and in a complete turn up for the books, better online multi-player integration than the Xbox 36o version.

So nothing much that can be argued there…. Now all we wait for is the game to be released so we can see this for ourselves.

    A game that is developed for any specific hardware will always be better than a port.

    Darn PS3 fanboys, who let them program? 😉

    So here’s a thought: is it better to boycott to show your disapproval, or rather buy it to show them where the real money lies? 😉

    I downloaded the Demo from XBL, and this game is one of my must buys next year. The gfx are some of the best I’ve seen on the 360 – compared to other racers. If it looks better on the PS3, then that must truly be something to behold…

    @Freak_c: Not necessarily, Assassin’s Creed was a PS3 exclusive at first… yet, the 360 is better/less buggy

    No it’s true. My buddy has a the PS3 version of AC and comparing the it to the 360 version. The 360 version is smoother in the framerate department.

    Riva, there are a million people that will say the same thing from each side from both camps. I cant say I have seen a single issue on the ps3 version!

    @Abev, then why are Activision releasing a patch for the PS3 version?

    It is pretty much accepted that the 360 version of AC is better than the PS3 version. In the same way that it is quickly becoming accepted that Burnout will be better on the PS3.

    Hmm, will it? You don’t think Criterion might learn from UT3?

    I am curious what impact the bundling of Forza with the Xbox has had on the sale of racing games. PGR 4 and others have underperformed a bit – I suppose if PS3 boxed Gran Turismo 5 the effect would be the same
