EA gametime

Battlefield 4 had a rather tumultuous launch, causing EA’s stock to take a tumble and even get investigated by shareholder to see if they knew the game was going to be such a problem. Fans of the franchise say the game is excellent, and now you can find out for yourself, risk free.

EA has brought back Origin Game Time. You can add Battlefield 4 to your Origin library anytime from now until 14 August. Once you have it, it’s up to you when you decide to download and launch the game. Upon first launch, you have 168 hours to play – that time runs when playing and when at work, play and sleep. Don’t worry about download times, though – your game time clock will only start ticking down once you’ve launched the game for the first time.

Game Time offers the entire Battlefield 4 experience. Complete the single-player campaign, or be like most people and just jump straight into multiplayer to join your 63 friends. Progress and Origin Achievements are saved, so if you end up buying the game after all your free gameplay time, you can pick up where you left off.

Head on over here and redeem your free game time.

Now this offer I like. This is a nice length for a demo – let players see that the game is no longer broken on PC and decide if they actually want to play it and enjoy all the levolution pew pew action. Good job EA – this is how you can appear like good guy EA.

Why can’t they do this with every game that comes out? A 5 hour window, a DEMO! Remember that you suit bastards? When we would by a magazine and almost pass out as you opened its still virgin pages? The sound as you peeled back its cover to remove the CD and ram it into your rom drive? Okay, I may have just had a muffin but this is inexcusable Rince… Still, bring back the DEMO!

Plus you then would know for sure how the game runs on your PC before you bought it

Well in the case of Battlefield 4 the magazine would have to have a strap at the top saying ‘before playing please purchase the next 7 months of our editions with CD updates…’

And the pages would be torn up so they would send you a small piece of tape to fix one page at a time.

That’s a good offer & good PR. See EA, you can do something nice every now & again – you might get to sell some BF4 to people who were already inclined towards it if they enjoy the experience all for the cost of a bit of bandwidth.

Now just don’t let any of your executives talk about it because that’ll ruin it for everyone by being arrogant pricks.

I bought Sim City 5 and to thank me for buying Sim City 5, EA gave me Battlefield 3 for free. Funny enough, since then I haven’t bought another EA title again.
So can some free time in Battlefield 4 make me want to install and use Origin again. Oh Ryanza, what’s your stance on DRM again. No seriously, EA doesn’t get it.

Yeah Mossel … I’m not sure what everyone was on about in terms of brokenness. Maybe I never noticed – cause I’m quite crap at it, so probably didn’t realise.

The only problems I’ve had are 4 occasions when I’ve emptied a clip at a player and lost to him with not a single shot registering. You do get the odd “killing each other at the same time” moment too – but that’s just funny.

Unless you’re one of those blokes who cares deeply about your K/D ratio.

I play for the awesomeness of being in a pitched, running sniping battle underneath a giant, half finished, satellite dish. That and the wonderful feeling of landing a headshot at extreme distance, or the stab to the face, knife to the neck, grab the dogtags and go …

That could be due to latency, my internet connection is quite volatile, so I’m used to it. I’m also not too concerned about K/D. As long as it is above 0.5 I’m happy. I tend to run in guns blazing lol! And afterwards think to myself…well that was pretty stupid.

Yeah I like the whole feel of the game! CoD feels like an arcade game compared to BF. Battlefield actually feels like a freaking battlefield! haha! My personal favourite thing to do is sneak around and take out the tanks, planting mines and bombing them!
