So, the first time that you ever played Mario Kart on the Wii with that funky little plastic white wheel, you thought to yourself “Man, if only I had one of these for my PS3 then my life would be complete!”, right?

Yeah, me neither, but the truth is that it’s mostly only because we were still mesmerized by the Wii. The PS3 does have sixaxis, so there is no reason why you can’t have a wheel for it as well, and that’s exactly what these guys thought.

When it comes to quality, this wheel is looking a lot better than the Nintendo one, and may actually be worth looking at.

Pictures and details after the jump.

Wheel already outdoes the Wii wheel, because if you have a Dual Shock 3 controller, you will have rumble, which it doesn’t.

If you haven’t actually ever tried the Wii wheel, it’s actually surprisingly fun and adds to the experience quite well. The wheel is being released on June 19, but there is no indication on whether or not anyone will be bringing some in locally and also no word on pricing just yet.

What do you guys think? Good idea, bad idea? Is it necessary when the sixaxis already works quite decently when holding a controller, and do any of you racing fans out there see yourself using one of these in future? This will actually work really well with that new Mod-Nation Racing game that Sony unveiled at E3.

  1. its a good idea, but i highly doubt it’ll add anything new for hardcore driving fans… they’ll have a proper wheel anyway.

What makes you think the Wii-wheel doesn’t have rumble? The wiimote has rumble, and it still has rumble when you put it in a plastic shell. 😀
