PlayStation Move incompatible with the flaming ball of death

So apparently the PlayStation move is incompatible with daylight  which pretty much confirms that it truly is the hardcore gamers controller of choice.

In some truly shocking news TQCast have stumbled across the fact that the PS eye cannot accurately detect the Move controller outside, in the sun… hereafter referred to as the flaming ball of death. Unconfirmed reports are blaming the flaming ball of death for this unexpected turn of event.

In other news the TQCast hosts have also checked into hospital over night after noticing a sudden reddening of their skin which has become painful to touch. According to doctors this radiation burn is a direct result of that very same flaming ball of death.

It all sounds like some wacky conspiracy theory to me but just to be safe we recommend closing all windows and curtains and staying indoors, with your working Move, until the death ball has been extinguished.

According to our sources this happens on a daily basis and has been going on for millennia.

I was wondering if this would get posted… I’m pretty sure a flashlight will give the same effect. Anything that could confuse the Eye into thinking it’s a Move controller.

I know it was said that for some games where the colour of the Move isn’t controlled by the game that it will use a colour not found in the background. I’m guessing that’s why it was simply a warning and the controller still worked finr.

Well it didn’t work fine really.. it wasn’t being picked up correctly.

And we had to post it as the Asian model video keeps getting referred to and this is the exact same problem. So if you want to game outside or in front of a bajillion cameras you are going to struggle.

“there you go, its confirmed PS Move doesn’t like bright lights”

Does this mean I can’t have my disco ball on the ceiling no more?

It’s hard to say? I mean you can see them using it at 1m40s and it looks like it’s working fine? Well unless you have it in your hand I guess you can’t tell.

But remember that it doesn’t just use the glowing ball for positioning. Once it has a position it could also you the built in sensor and accelerometer’s to ‘guess’ where it should be.

It’ll be awesome to see some tests of other light sources and see what happens! I’ll see if I can find a test somewhere.

Bonk said it before, who games outside? I wonder if Kinect would have the same problem, since even the cheap IR camera would struggle with excess ambient light (as we saw with the Kinect struggling to read those two Chinese chicks a while back).
