After braving an entire mountain of danger, players might be feeling somewhat parched. Fortunately, Cerulean City is an oasis of new challenges to tackle once prospective Pokémon trainers make it out of the mountains. A city famed for its vast water parks and rivers, Cerulean City is also the home of the resident gym leader: Misty!
She’s an expert at making a splash, and she’s the second obstacle in the path of players who seek to become a Pokémon champion. You’d better prepare yourself as well, because Misty is easily capable of washing players away if they take her lightly! Here’s how you can pull the plug when you’re ready for a wet and wild showdown.
- Gym Leader: Misty
- Pokemon Type: Water
- Reward: Cascade Badge
- Location: Cerulean City
Misty’s Pokémon
A master of Water-type pocket monsters, Misty fields a headache-addled Psyduck and Staryu’s evolved form Starmie on the battlefield.
Recommended Pokémon
If you chose a Bulbasaur as your starter Pokémon, you’re ready to rock and roll here thanks to Grass-type Pokémon easily being able to soak up the torrents of water that Misty’s Staryu and Starmie will unleash. Squirtle won’t do too badly either, especially if it has learnt bite, but Charmander players are going to find themselves at a distinct disadvantage due to Fire-type Pokémon having an innate weakness.
If you caught a Caterpie and evolved it into a Butterfree, it’ll provide a decent resistance, but you’re really going to want a Grass-type Pokémon on your side. Fortunately, Cerulean City has an abundance of Oddish and Bellsprout (depending on which version of Let’s Go you chose), and you can even grab a Flying-type such as Pidgey before you reach the city. Evolve that into a Pidgeotto, and you’ll have a massive advantage on your side with a high-flying pal.
Rewards
One beaten, Misty will hand over the Cascade Badge and TM29: Scald. You’ll be able to command any Pokémon you’ve traded for up to level 30.
