Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire announced

Alpha-and-Omega

I want to be, the very best, like no one ever was. To remake all those games, to HD ‘em up is my goal. Pokémon! Our next proper game is a ways away, so we’ll dip back into the past because that’s the way! Pokémon!

Nintendo has announced that they’ll be bringing back the 2003 third generation Pokémon games, in a new visual flavour on the 3DS. Dubbed Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby, the pair of games will be out in November this year and will offer a new take on a familiar adventure according to the Ninty house. And that’s all that’s Nintendo is saying, so enjoy this trailer for the announcement that adds nothing more to this story.

I’ve got fond memories of the original Ruby and Sapphire games on the GBA. It was the first Pokémon games to really get a kick in the visual department, and it came with a massive new world to explore in the form of the Hoenn region.

Unlike Pokémon Gold and Silver, which had been a tad too easy to conquer, it also had the right amount of challenge and a library of new critters to catch that felt a ton more inspired than the ones introduced in the previous generation.

All in all, it’s one of the finer Pokémon games out there, and near the top of my list. And honestly, I’d pay extra for a 3D version of Ruby and Sapphire if it gave me a chance to recapture a few favourite Pokémon again.

And Nintendo knows this. Well played Nintendo, well played.

Don’t know. It was the first “I” word that sprang to mind. Mostly because that’s close to how I feel this morning – irritable lol

This is actually very awesome news, people have been asking for a remake for some time now. Was not one of my favorite titles but will definitely buy it since I know i will get at least 100 hours of play out of it.

What? Another Pokemon game? Maybe we should stop making fun of franchises that release games annually & focus on ones like this that release them MONTHLY.

I think I’ve figured out how they make these things so quickly. They use the Spore creature creator to make a random creature & a baby-talk generator for it’s name. Insert into game engine. Repeat 50 times. BOOM! New game!

Are you sure the name is long enough? Could do with an extra “First Strike”, “Trainer’s Fury” or something.
