Some of you may have heard that the game based on the popular television series, Prison Break was aborted. Now the Deep Silver publishing label has taken up all distributing rights for the title.

Originally the game was commissioned back in 2007 and was aborted by Brash, the initial publisher. For those of you who don’t know, Brash is a Hollywood firm responsible for such low reviewd titles as Alvin and the Chipmunks, Jumper and Space-chimps. The firm had originally set out to license movies and tv shows to be adapted into games and would release no original titles but eventually they went bust.

Eventually Slovenian developer, Zootfly took to funding the project till it was completed and now according to the LA Times’ blog, the game should be released by the end of the year.

It is said that the title will feature some of the actors doing voice-overs for their characters and according to Bostjan Troha (Zootfly CEO),

The cancellation was a blessing in disguise because we got to spend more time on the key gameplay features and get rid of the half-baked ideas Brash management pushed on us

I just hope that Mike’s tats look awesome and aren’t constantly hidden under a jersey or some silly thing. I also haven’t been able to find any confirmation regarding which platforms the game will be available on but based on previous titles like Jumper it’ll probably available on various platforms.
