You may have noticed on Friday that I posted up a teaser image for the new title that Activision is going to announce at the VGA’s later this week with the catch phrase ‘Murder your Maker’.

Well now thanks to the magic of YouTube and RampageZA’s comment we can pretty much confirm that the new title will in fact be Prototype 2.

If you pause the below video at around 3-4 seconds you can see the header image above which is obviously from the original Prototype title.

so excited the original prototype was freaking insane, fun I think it’s definitely one of those games that made you feel totally awesome and powerful

The original Prototype sucked! It was a repetitive pile of crap, that held an incredible amount of promise, but halfway into the game (and after the 500th army base you’ve infiltrated or the millionth zombie you’ve killed, or Alex Mercer whining about not having feelings anymore, you’re confronted with the reality that this pile of shit will bore you to tears.

Worse game of 2009, and I have to ask “Do we really need a sequel to that pile of crap?” I for one, am not AMUSED! Stupid fucking game, and it’s ending is just pure.. unadulterated fail.

Ugh! Thanks Lazygamer for bringing back all the memories. :pinch: :pouty:

Prototype felt like a total conversion mod of last gen’s Hulk : Ultimate Destruction. Because it basically was.

The first 1 or 2 hour(s) of Prototype, you can’t help but be amazed at the game, but that euphoria is quickly replaced by the realization that it never gets better. It never becomes something other than overpowered mutant dude being able to kill millions of zombies and other mutants (Yeah yeah, I know about “THAT MOMENT”), but after you’ve destroyed a couple of hives or a couple of army bases, you’re just reminded of how utterly weak it is.

Not to mention that Mercer is such a whiny little piece of crap. UGH! It could have been as awesome as Crackdown 1, had they just given it some sort of direction.

Incidentally, my mate raves about this game as well, but he’s never actually finished it.

Once you really sit down with the game, and REALLY put the hours into the game, you can’t help but feel shafted. It’s… just… so.. dismally… mediocre… generic…

    mind numbingly so…
