Update 2: I (Gavin) have spoken to Ramone Pickover from kalahari.com about this odd pricing. Unfortunately there is no secret subversive marketing going on and the truth is far less entertaining. They have recently upgraded the engine that powers the site and are currently experiencing some gremlins in the software. The price for the PS4 is R6299 and there are no plans of that being cut anytime soon. However you may see the kalahari price change again and IF you complete your checkout before it reverts they will honour that price.
So I suggest camping out on that page waiting for the magical R50 price tag to appear.

Yep, Kalahari is offering another cheap pre-order for the PS4. Right now, if you’ve got the cash to spare in one go, you can reserve your console R5669. And 15 cents.
And yes, we’ll keep an eye on this one to see if the price flip-flops again. But, credit where credit is due, if you pre-order at this price and Kalahari changes the it again, they will honour what you paid originally instead of asking for more bucks from your now empty wallet.
Better get a move on with this deal fellas.

Guys don’t waste your time with khalahari or any other SA retailer that gets their retail sales value from Ster Kiekor. Order through Phoenix Tech SA. I ordered my PS4 super bundle pack for R7999. It consists of the PS4 console, 2x controllers,2x ps4 games of your choice(5 titles to choose from) and thr ps4 eye. For those that just want the ps4 console it retails at R5500. Ster Kinekor is busting our chops and milking us for every sent we have. To pay R6299 is an absolute insult to us. The Ps4 is $200 cheaper than what the ps3 was at launch,sow how do they justify only R200 cheaper than the ps3?

Importing around the official licensed distribution chain.
SK have the licence to distribute the PlayStation brand in South Africa. This comes with the understanding that they will handle the support, marketing and brand image in the country. Grey importers just bring in the hardware and sell it cheaper because they have no overheads.
But if it breaks SK are not liable to honour any warranty

They stopped “marking” the HDD slot with the PS3 slim and ultra slim.
So my guess is a blue screw hidden away on the bottom like with the PS3 slim or one of the panels pop off like with the PS3 ultra slim.
If they state “user up gradable” implies that user is allowed to upgrade hdd without it affecting the warranty.

When I tried to contact them, I received a failure message stating their sales email (sales@preorderheaven.com) does not exist.
The owner hides his identity with a service, but I figured out his paypal email,

I ordered from them in September. Was told I would have the ps4 on launch day(through the website) when I sent them an email asking when I should expect my ps4 the told me it would show up after launch date. I then sent multiple emails and never for a response. Paypal should make am exception, my bank also issued a fraud case and refunded my money as of today. This site is still up, but be assured thes ite is a scam.
