It’s called reverse interest. You calculate beforehand the interest you, as a company, want to make out of the deal, work it into the monthly price and spread it out evenly so the price monthly never changes. There’s still interest.

If you look at what you get, 2 controllers, 2 games… Extra controller is R800 (console comes with 1), 2 games at the average price of R700, that’s R2,200, plus the price of a console which is R6000 that makes R8,200, and what they are offering is 380×24 = 9120 then… Looks like interest included! Trololo!

Do not think you should use the Takalot special deal n the calculation. So add R800 for console and R100 for controller you are close to the R9100.
So the deal is you get a R9k loan interest free BUT you need a FNB cheques account as your main account for the 2 years to qualify through which they score a lot more than interest on R9k.

If you look at all the deals they sell it too you at recommended retail price which you pay off in 24 months with no extra cost.
So from the buyers side it looks like a interest free loan, you are not paying more.
Of course they use the markup to offset the interest cost. Their big thing is to hook you into their product for a couple of years like the cellphone companies.

With you on that, in fact I’m not even going into debt for my next car. If you check the “initiation cost” and monthly costs on car repayments with the interest you just drive you old car for little longer then you save up for the new one in 2/3 the normal repayment time and normally score an extra 5% discount
