Rampant couch has killed 80 477 people in Battlefield Hardline

I don't trust my furniture anymore

Are you still enjoying Battlefield Hardline? I’ll admit, the game hasn’t interested me as much as I thought it would, which is why I haven’t yet taken part in the cops and robbers shenanigans. A part of me thought it would be a colossal flop, yet, even though it may not be as popular as its predecessors, it has managed to find a respectable player base (more so than that other 4v1 monster tracking simulator game I’m sure). EA have released some statistics on their latest shooter, and it reveals some mind boggling numbers.

My favourite, as you can gather by the headline, is of their couch Easter egg. Here it is in action in case you have not found or seen it for yourself…

Amazing right? I’ve had to fight the urge to go out and buy the game instantly! Many people have enjoyed driving that death machine around, alerting EA to how strong it is. It received a nerf last week, but not before it had its way with the players, killing 80 477 of them. MERICA!

Here are the other not-as-interesting-as-the-couch numbers in a pretty infographic (via Gamespot):

THE NUMBERS MASON OMG

Hot damn. $901 billion dollars? That’s enough money to buy er… LOTS of new stuff, or something. Also, enough to cover the 2013 budget deficit apparently. Man, that is a lot of cash!

It also looks like there have been loads of multiplayer battles – 224 943 351 of them. Either there is a pretty solid community klapping games very frequently, or two people have played that many times. I’m gonna go out on a limb and say it’s probably the latter. SCIENCE!

As impressive as these numbers are, there is no direct indication of what the sales figures of Hardline are. Are EA covering their tracks with these other ginormous, unnecessary numbers? Leave your thoughts below.

Ag no man… Jislaaikit, if you send him food by mail order it’ll get to him faster than it would take to finish downloading the game….

I regularly play the multiplayer. It is immense fun. Especially hunting down the said couch with an upgraded minigun.

I would bet hotwire is the mode responsible for the pile of cash. It basically is the BF equivalent of alchemy in Oblivion. Lots of repeated fun that satisfies my urge to hoard stuff.

Only problem I have is the mechanic class is nerfed in terms of the amount of money you make as fixing things nets a very small financial award.

This game is massively fun. Since I skipped Bf4 I found this as much fun, if not more so, than Bf3. Yeah the maps are smaller, but the fact that you do not regularly get 10 snipers lying 100 miles away making you dance is much better. I’ve played 23 hours already, which for me as a husband with a 3 year old and only one TV in the house, is a lot!
