Sims future shower

When I told you guys the minimum requirements for The Sims 4 last month a bunch of you had quite a chuckle – what is this, 2004? Well, those were just the minimum requirements – for recommended settings you’ll need slightly more than a toaster.

According to The Sims 4 FAQs, the recommended PC requirements are:

  • REQUIRED: Internet connection required for product activation.
  • OS: 64 Bit Windows 7,8, or 8.1
  • PROCESSOR: Intel core i5 or faster
  • AMD Athlon X4
  • MEMORY: 4GB RAM
  • HARD DRIVE: At least 9 GB of free space with at least 1 GB additional space for custom content and saved games
  • DVD-ROM: DVD ROM drive required for installation only
  • VIDEO CARD: NVIDIA GTX 650 or better
  • SOUND CARD: DirectX 9.0c Compatible
  • DIRECTX: DirectX 9.0c compatible
  • INPUT: Keyboard and Mouse

An i5 and 4GB of RAM? I need more than that just to do normal processing and work – what kind of magic is The Sims 4 powered by? Also, it just seems so archaic – I mean, an NVIDIA GTX 650 or better? Keyboard and mouse controls? Must be ancient!

In all seriousness, it sounds like The Sims 4 really will be able to run on just about anything. If your PC is still functional, it can probably run The Sims 4. Of course, it isn’t coming to Mac or Linux just yet, but considering the low specs you could probably run this on an ancient PC that you can borrow from a friend. Perhaps leaving out pools was a good thing – who knew that they required so many resources.

Recommended PC requirement = Origin. The Sims 4 is not a PC game. The Sims 4 is a Origin game. Saying The Sims 4 is a PC game is like saying Halo is an Xbox Live game. Saying The Sims 4 is a PC game is like saying The Last of Us is an PSN+ game.

I’m curious about it, and I did enjoy The Sims 3, but I’m still not quite there to buy from EA again. Not just yet.

Sims 3 lags on my PC and I have no idea why. It runs BF4 on highest but can’t run Sims 3 without lagging lol.
