Gamers without significant others can spend the evening saving the world instead of crying themselves to sleep while hugging their pillows – because the anticipated Mass Effect 3 demo is now available to everyone. Of course, there are some of you in relationships who’ll be rushing to play the demo tonight – and you’re certainly braver than I am.
The 1.76Gb demo is available on Xbox Live right now, offering up two single player missions and a chunk of the multiplayer as well.
“The demo begins in dramatic fashion with the spectacular attack on Earth, followed by a mid-game section showcasing the groundbreaking interactive storytelling, adrenaline-pumping action, ruthless and intelligent enemies, and deep customization that make Mass Effect 3 the must-have title of 2012,” it says on Xbox Live.
As a caveat, the multiplayer is only available to those of you who activated your Battlefield 3 online passes. It’ll open up to everybody else on February 17th. PC and PS3 gamers will also get the demo today – but it only goes live at 8pm GMT, so that’s why you can’t find it right now.
Remember, playing the Mass Effect 3 demo unlocks some extra Mass-Effect themed gear in Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, on top of the N7 armour you should already have.
Mass Effect 3’s released on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 on March 6 in the US, and March 9 in the rest of the world.
