Gone are the days where Resident Evil actually felt like a horror. Most of the franchise’s core titles have leaned more on the action side of things, and I’d even go as far as calling Resident Evil 6 a straight up third-person shooter. Revelations, previously only a 3DS exclusive, went back to basics. People really loved it, which is why Revelations 2 looks no different.
Resident Evil Revelations 2’s story details were revealed yesterday, as well as the way the game is going to be launched. Capcom is taking a page from Telltale’s book here, launching content via episodes before a full retail package. So the whole thing is meant to play out like a short, psychological horror series, something which the first trailer captures quite well.
Although, I think the horror is a little more than psychological here. Body parts hanging from the ceiling? Check. Blood soaked corpses everywhere? Check. Infected brut who was probably a bouncer in Benoni before becoming even more disgusting? Double check.
I really like what looks like a slower paced, more traditional Resident Evil experience, and I’m sure most fans are relieved that Capcom is finally listening. The first episode is set to hit digital stores early next year. Resident Evil Revelations 2 is heading to Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3 and PS4.

After being totally desensitised by the thrills of playing The Last of Us on Grounded mode.
Not even the sheer terror of running out of ammo in Resident Evil 4 comes close anymore.
So so spoilt.

I cant put the game down its that good. Normally I get bored after 4 play throughs. But no, the darn AI keeps getting one over on me every play making the game refreshing over and over.
The exhilaration after beating a scene with limited items and a bit of luck is why I became a gamer.
Not often one shouts FUCK YES!!! after scraping by a horde of those clickers.
Dark Souls type of FUCK YES!!!

I wish the game only had the Grounded Mode option. That is totally the only way TLoU should be played. No Health Bar, HUD, no ammo count, one hit one death and three new game+ to fully upgrade your tools. It brings the stealth element fully into play and un taps that primal fight or flight part of the brain.
… Fucking clickers 🙂

If you would play only on grounded you cannot get all the trophies 🙂
Like the shiv doors or all upgrades and weapons. There are just not enough supplies and stuff to do that.

Word of warning. When his door is closed and you can hear the PS running. Knock first. He takes things quite literal.

Sighh… even poor old Deadspace, the Resident Evil killer has dated when compared to TLoU.

Played Dead Space 3. Even that’s not scary anymore, the necromorphs are more annoying than anything else.

Resident Evil has allot to live up to. It seems as though its more for the Anime junkies now with all that complicated lore and comic zombie mobs.

Like MGS, Hideo trips Balls when writing that lore. I have no idea what the hell is going on in Snakes universe anymore.

One of the scariest moments on Resident evil for me was:
Resident Evil 2 (claire B mode) when the Big guy smashes though walls a couple of times.

Dead Space 3 is an excuse to bring out another Dead Space game. It was beautiful, shiny and had some fun co-op. But not so much the scares.

Yeah well 3 wasn’t even a real Dead Space game, more like a dead waste of time 3.

Revelations had the worst controls ever and was boring as hell so at least the former will be an improvement with the sequel.
