Retro Games With Realistic Sound Effects Are Creepier Than You Think

Have you ever wondered what old-school video games would sound like if someone replaced all of the original blips and blops with super-realistic sound effects from the real world?

No? Me neither, but let me tell you that in some cases it’s actually friggin’ creepy as all hell. Thanks to sound designer Jake Kaufman, you can now experience Contra with real machine guns, Pac-man making nom nom noises, Mega Man clanking around in his armor and more. Some of it is funny and some of it is so friggin’ strange.
