Arkham (1)

Here’s a bunch of new screenshots for the upcoming Batman: Arkham Origins, showing off the Batcave, trusty man servant Alfred and the Mad Hatter about to have fist-based reconstructive dental surgery.

Arkham (1)Arkham (2)Arkham (3)Arkham (4)Arkham (5)

This is the first time that we’ll be seeing the Batcave in the Arkham series of games. The small hideaway near Arkham Asylum was an emergency bunker at best, while Arkham City had no such hideaway for the caped crusader. Here’s a synopsis of that classic secret base from Games TM via AGB:

Hanging like blackened teeth from the roof of the cave’s mouth, the sea of bats angrily disperses as the Batwing roars through the interior waterfall of Batman’s clandestine headquarters. The Batcave is a much larger expanse than the miniature proxy installed beneath Arkham Asylum in the first game.

Iconic vehicles stand like trophies on raised platforms, his wardrobe emerges from the thick metallic walkways – enabling player’s to switch bonus costumes between missions – and every inch drips with canny references placed for the eagle-eyed – which, aside from a glimpse of a newspaper cutting of the Red Hood spotted in Gotham, proves GamesTM certainly is not.

But it also serves as a practical base for Batman to upgrade equipment and polish abilities. The most notable addition being Challenge Maps, a separate feature of previous entries , now accessible from the Batcave.

Batman Arakham-slice Arkham Origins is out October 24.

  1. I would like to see a Sandbox type of game where you could just drive around in the Batmobile or run over roof tops gliding and fighting crime 😛

It can have a main story line where you need to capture one of the Major villains like the Joker or the Riddler.

They should incorporate random events like bank robberies and something like that with all the other villains so that there is some replay value as well and to make it a bit more interesting.

If it’s anything like the first 2, even though it’s developed by a different team, man I’m so keen for this game!!

Im nervous about this one, it is very rare that the 3rd in a series lives up to its predecessors. I just hope they have kept it dark and brutal, showing that Batman is taking damage like in arkham city seeing his suite being torn to shreds as you progress, it put an emphasis on how hard the fighting is on batman.

Agreed. Worried as heck. But then again, the third in a series curse can sometimes miss a generation, look at Far Cry 3! And… Uhhh, Aliens 3 (cough) and Max Payne 3, (cough) and SHUT UP RINCE!

I’m still a little lukewarm to the new Batman game…not really sure why. It’s baffling because I LURVED Arkham Asylum and Arkham City.

I also hope that the game will also have a prologue or a prologue mode about batmans origins and being a regular crime fighter all over gotham city.
