Robbie Bach shoots his mouth off about Live

It looks like the success of Xbox Live may be getting to Microsoft’s head.

Robbie Bach has been talking about the service and comparing it to it’s rivals, he goes on to say..

Sony has done some things online, but nothing that can be called a service. We have a big advantage and we’re going to keep pressing that advantage

Now honestly I actually do agree with him but I really dislike the attitude and arrogance he seems to be getting. While Sony’s service may not be at the level of Xbox Live yet at least it is available to South Africans legally.

Something that Bach’s mighty Xbox Live hasn’t managed to do yet…

I own an XBOX 360 and unfortunatlly had to say I lived in the UK to get access to XBL. I was thinking yesterday when/ if they every get XBL in SA will I keep my same profile or will I need to start again. On the other hand I caved and bought myself a Sony PS3 on the weekend and straight up logged onto the Sony Network and browsed and purchased from their online marketplace with no problems. 1 point for Sony on this one.

Yes … agreed its cool. but to be honest, Im starting to think of going PS3. MS is just to arrogant and just dont give a rats @ss for us here in SA..we are good enought to give money for agames and consoles but no live… MS can get the stats if they want, hell they can set up a service desk with a IVr and you just give your gamer tag and tel nr or something. LG.. what does MS say how many sa live people do they want to give us live?

There was a time when new zealand didn’t have live. When they got it everyone there had to start new profiles. Microsoft didn’t want to carry the accounts over. So if we get live you’re gonna have to keep your account as uk or delete to get a South African one.

Robbie Bach, more so than anybody else at Microsoft’s Xbox camp, has earned his stripes enough to warrant him running his mouth. Besides, after the sodomy the original Xbox experienced, who is to blame them for enjoying their current success? I say talk shit Microsoft. Talk as much shit as the Redmund camp can allow for. However, whether they’ll still be able to talk all this crap end of 2008 is questionable. We’ll see.

I sit between the two camps. Yeah, they deserve the kudo’s for an excellent service (where applicable), and just remember we all just got a free game. It was also Live’s B-day last week, so of course they’re going to talk it up.

On the other hand, just don’t go pulling a Ken Katuragi and shooting your mouth off for no reason, it’ll come back to bite you in the bum.
