Rocket League Winter Games

Rocket League has been my go-to game this year for multiplayer, even with the plethora of online shooter that have hit shelves over the past few weeks. It’s easy to start but incredibly difficult to master, something which I learnt the hard way playing in our (still running) Rocket League tournament. But sometimes I just want to load it up and have a few games, and I’m sure Winter Games is definitely going to help with that even more.

Winter Games is an upcoming free update that will add some rather interesting content to Rocket League. Right now the Mutator Mashup playlist exists, offering up games with tweak rule sets for Rocket League veterans to mess around with. It’s being replaced with Winter Games on December 14th, which will add the new ice-field and hockey puck for a massive twist on regular Rocket League physics.

The update will also bring with it some brand new items, all of which can be earned in-game between December 14th and January 4th (when the Winter Games comes to a close). These items will drop less frequently than normal ones, so you’re really going to have to get your hours in if you want them all. They include the Xmas Rocket Trail, Blitzen Topper, Christmas Tree Topper, Sad Sapling Topper, Santa Topper, Candy Cane Antenna, and Holiday Gift Antenna.

Winter Games is the only free content next month, but Rocket League will also be getting the recently revealed “Chaos Run” DLC too, which will cost you $3.99. It brings with it two brand new vehicles, some new items and the Wasteland map for you to go truly Mad Max in. So yeah, Rocket League is still getting better and better.
