Rockstar Games has a busy year ahead of them, with numerous big budget titles hitting shelves throughout the 2012 period. Two such games are the much anticipated Max Payne 3 and Grand Theft Auto 5.

In an “Asked and Answered” feature on their site forums, Rockstar found themselves bombarded with questions about these projects, as well as enquiries into a certain game that debuted last year, that went by the name of LA Noire.

Here’s what they had to say.

Even though development studio Team Bondi had to declare Greek-levels of bankruptcy and creator Brendan McNamara jumping ship to begin work on his next title, Whore of the Orient, Rockstar did provide a little bit of hope for those players who are holding thumbs for a sequel to be made.

As Rockstar put it;

While there won’t be any more DLC or additional content for the current release of L.A. Noire (we’re all too busy working on Max Payne 3, GTAV and other games to come), don’t count out the possibility of a new game in the L.A. Noire franchise in the future. We simply have not decided anything.

We don’t always rush to make sequels, but that does not mean we won’t get to them eventually – see Max and Red Dead for evidence of that – we have so many games we want to make and the issue is always one of bandwidth and timing.

LA Noire was a breath of fresh air last year when it debuted. Sure, it had a few issues here and there, but on the whole, it was a remarkably strong debut that successfully combined a rich narrative experience with action-packed gameplay and technology that gave characters an unreal amount of realism in their facial expressions.

With Rockstar still holding several rights to the game, lets see if they do plan on making a sequel in the next couple of years, albeit one without a lead character that acts like a Dovahkiin when he suspects anyone of lying to him.
