Transformers-dark-spark

In an attempt to sound just like my real-life hero Optimus Prime (HE IS REAL DAMMIT!) I’ve been smoking a lot of cigarettes lately. Which has had the side effect of giving me a slightly manlier voice and various forms of respiratory conditions. Still, I’m feeling smoother than the taste of my favourite death-stick, now that another Transformers game is on the way.

If you were expecting the latest Transformers game to have gameplay that was different, then you’ve crossed over into the wrong universe bub. Transformers: Rise Of The Dark Spark is pretty much an official sequel to the High Moon developed War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Here’s the latest video:

And really, I’m okay with that. The Cybertron games are some of my favourite titles from the last generation of gaming, serving as adequate vehicles for all manner of giant robot action, coupled with some solid multiplayer. Plus you got to play as Grimlock, which was all kinds of win in my book.

Edge of Reality is the studio behind Transformers: Rise Of The Dark Spark, which carries on the war between the Autobots and Decepticons across multiple timelines and dimensions. Hell, I may be a Michael Bay fan, but that synopsis sounds even better than the upcoming Transformers 4: Age of Extinction. And that film features Optimus Prime riding Grimlock into battle.

The next Transformers game will be out in time for the film, naturally. There’ll be more than meets the eye when it arrives on PC, PlayStation 3 and 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii U and 3DS platforms.

Oh, I have him on a short leash, it is only because of my will and patience with him that he is allowed to live and provide me warm food

Need to be careful though, one day he might just give you 2 minutes on high instead of reheat & BOOM! Mouth burnt to hell.

Great, so now Megatron assembles like the Megazord from Power Rangers into Super Megatron I guess?

That’s actually Bruticus, a massive Transformer made up of several Combaticon Decepticons. You got to play as him in the previous Transformers game. And it was rad.

Are the Transformers games actually fun to play? They’ve been on special a couple of times & I’ve considered snapping them up, but every time something tells me no.

“War for” and “Fall of” Cybertron are great. Really Solid, FUN 3rd person shooters with Transformers. Really worth picking up on Specials… ($10 a pop or so). 8/10 will play again.
(after I get all the achievements in XCOM: Enemy Unknown)

EW is cool. Adds a lot of interesting stuff. MEC troopers are the boss.

So what would you choose then:
            1.) Blood Dragon
            2.) Max Payne 3
            3.) EW
            4.) Bioshock Infinite
            5.) GTA 4

            1) Blood Dragon – it’s not a long game & is all kinds of awesome
            2) EW – it’ll suck a good few hours again
            3) Bioshock Infinite – that’s next for me once I finish Blades of Time
            4) Max Payne 3 – it’s good, just don’t play on hard like I did, can get very frustrating
            5) GTA 4 – Still need to play that too

That Bruticus reminds me a book I read once where an assassin from another dimension takes over the bodies of his victims to blend in better, but then as they are dead they start falling apart. So eventually he starts grafting bits and pieces on. He goes on to graft a cat on to act as his arm, not as cool as a helicopter mind you.
