Sales Figures… so how are we all looking?

So the Xbox 360 price cuts are just starting to take effect and I am expecting big announcements from Sony (Home) and Nintendo (something.. there has to be something) just around the corner.

The silly season is racing up on us, anyone else spotted Christmas decorations yet?

So lets take a look at where we stand right now.

The Wii is going to end this year exactly how it started it, on top.. To date they have sold +- 33 million units and are leading in every single region.

The Xbox 360 is still in second place with total sales of +- 21 million and is only trailing the PS3 in Japan…

The PS3 is in third with sales of +-16 million and is very very close to overtaking the 360 in Europe with it’s current deficit a mere 380 000.

According to the latest VGChartz figures the PS3 outsold the 360 by 30 000 in Europe but expect a European shakeup in the near future when those 360 price cuts take effect and LBP is released.

But unless something goes totally wrong I can’t see 2008 being anything other than the year of the Wii… they can stick it next to the 2007 and 2006 years as well…

They replace their forecast with actual figures as soon as it’s available. Whats wrong with that?

Maybe point out which part of the story you disagree with and I can then address that…

VGChartz is as an accurate a guess as we are ever going to get… but yes it is still a guess until they update their figures with factual ones

Well MS just announced their Euro marketing campaign for Xmas is more expensive than their launch and Halo 3 campaigns combined 😯

If nothing else, it’s going to be a very interesting silly season.
